The thing we loved about this hotel was that it was near a metro station, and you could walk to plenty of shops and restaurants, but it was not in a "touristy" section (we encountered many more locals than tourists). The rates were reasonable for Paris (we rented two rooms for our family of four: a room with a double...

Hotel Du Nord has a central location, close to Le Republique (a square in Paris, located on the border between the 3rd, 10th and 11th arrondissements). We stayed there 3 nights as a family trip. I won't be able to make a comment about the breakfast because our reservation didn't include breakfast. If you want to have breakfast, you have...

Close to the underground, at a walking distance to Place De La Republique and a little more to the very center ....we were walking to Notre Dame - 1 hour. There are charmant little restaurants, creperie and tapas bar in the neighboorhood, close to the channel. Rooms are basic. The hotel personnel was very welcoming. You could have free bikes...

We spent 3 nights at Hotel du Nord. We arrived on Eurostar and this hotel was within walking distance of the Gard du Nord. The hotel was very welcoming. We had a room on the top floor at the back of the hotel, so we didn't have a view. The room was fairly basic, but good for the price. It...

The price is excellent for a hotel in such a good central Paris location - it's probably the best value Paris hotel I've stayed in, especially if you want somewhere that's a bit different! My friend and I loved the 'vintage' feel of the hotel - the decoration, the books, the old furniture and the outside is really pretty. The...

Rather quaint small hotel, great value for money. Excellent location, 5 min walk from Republique. Staff VERY friendly and helpful. Breakfast fairly standard (tea, coffee, croissants, bread, juice) say other guests bring their own extras. Room rather compact with little hanging / drawer space. Only down sides, no lounge area other than small reception, no bar or facility to make...

Visited the hotel for the second time May 26th May 2014 and found it the same as we did in 2013, it is in a central location very easy to get to from Gare du Nord, there are plenty of places to eat that will suit all budgets. The staff were very helpful and friendly and were more than willing...

Recommended this hotel from a friend. Great location close Republique Metro stop which has links to every part of the city. Rooms are fairly big in comparison to others we stayed at, and clean. Our room had a king size bed. The staff was more then helpful and friendly. I can not say a bad thing about this hotel and...

Affordable hotel, well located, close to the Place de la Republique. They have bicycles to borrow. Breakfast was OK, yet simple. I believe the hotel staff are the most friendly people in Paris. Would stay there again.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Our hotel is a small one with 23 rooms that are warm, cozy and attractively decorated. When our guests arrive, we give them a key to the entrance door to the hotel as well as a room key. Right away everyone feels at home or rather, in a guesthouse. Our rooms are all different, each one has its own style: Oriental, pop, empire, Pompei, and so on.... We take particular care with the breakfast, served in the basement with its old-fashioned stone ceiling. Our breakfast consists in croissants, the traditional baguette and whole-grain bread, made not by an industrial bakery but by our local baker. The jams are homemade, prepared by us using quality fruits. All the products we use are chosen and furnished by local shops. Our guesthouse is located in a central district animated by its residents. It is a popular district for Parisians that is famous for its picnics along the Canal Saint-Martin, its bars, its restaurants and small local shops. All around you will find many Parisian brands, boutiques, bookstores, and food stores. We have selected them and tested them before recommending them. For getting around in Paris we have bicycles that are freely available during your stay. This is also part of our approach. Whatever the reason for your visit to Paris, we hope you will appreciate the atmosphere of our guesthouse. ... more   less
