Traveling trough France with my husband and two teenage boys I decided to leave a few nights open for impromptu stops. After canoeing the dordogne it took us a bit longer to arrive until the beautiful walled cite carcassone. Impromptu at 8pm in a walled cite that allows no driving was a bit tricky until we found our angel Nicole.... More

Second visit to Carcassonne, second perfect stay in Madame Nicole's Orange room. Not much has changed and that's a good thing: Quiet rooms in the Citè managed by a very kind host. The quality you get for the price you pay is great.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Nicole was a wonderful host and very accommodating. The breakfast was simple but excellent. She made sure to help us with a taxi to the train station. Wonderful place to stay! We loved the balcony and the views.

This will almost sound scripted after some previous poor reviews because we found this excellent for the $75 odd we paid for the night. Downstairs room we were in had plenty of space, comfy couch, wifi was great speed unless outside in the nice little courtyard. Breakfast cereal, juice, eggs, Bread. Perfect! We heard no noise whatsoever from trucks or... More

We found this BnB by chance wondering around Carcassonne streets! Nicole was lovely and showed us the room she had available. Nice, big downstairs room with a balcony, we just loved it! Good breakfast selection in the room and good shower. We really enjoyed it :) thank you

Went on the recommendation of Rick Steve's - who is usually right on. This was not the cleanest of places and could definitely use an update. Bedding was old and threadbare, towels were very old - we felt like we were getting exfoliated after using them. The owner was very nice, but that was about it. For 85 Euros we... More

On the plus side, great location within the walls of Carcassonne. The price is fair for the location. The orange room has a small kitchen and table and chairs if you want to have a meal in (breakfast is a make your own with items found in your refrigerator and a supply of items downstairs). It also has a small... More

We stayed here two nights in mid September and had an enjoyable time. We were in the blue room which had an efficiency kitchen with little stove, microwave and fridge (don't plan on cooking a full meal), a wonderful private patio and a sitting area all open concept in one big room. The bathroom is small but sufficient and very... More

Good location in central within the walls old town, not far from the parking lot. However, it is not the cleanest, no air conditioning, right on the square and very noisy from the cafes and restaurants, morning deliveries - truck noises. The bathroom had sewer gas smells, keep the door closed. I tried to keep the traps in sink and... More

We stayed in the large Orange Room of Chambre le Grand Puits located within the walled medieval city of Carcassonne. This is affordable accommodation and perfect for a self-catering stay. The Orange room is on the second floor and reached by a staircase (no lift). The balcony was very useful during the lovely June weather. Wifi works great, and cable... More
