First off, the hostess Jacqui was in excellent touch with me throughout, especially guiding me to the hotel and assisting with parking the first night. The size of the room was fine, considering that the building is hundreds of years old, you make do with what is already there. The room was well appointed with a separate shower.bathroom that was...

Had postponed a to Carcassonne here several years ago, and was happy to finally get here this fall. The owners are friendly and helpful (even drove us back to our car and helped us move to the "free" lot outside the walls), and provided dinner recommendations. Once the bulk of the tourists leave at the end of the day, it's...

More than anything, I wanted to stay within the medieval walls of Carcassonne and watch sunsets and sunrise from the ramparts as I had done many years ago and imagine myself in another time and place. L’Echappee Belle was the most reasonably-priced establishment that we could find to do that. We enjoyed the view of the Basilica out our window...

We stayed here for two nights and absolutely loved it! We had a downstairs room which was small but totally adequate, clean, comfortable and had a pretty view of the garden. We had bottles of water provided and a kettle with tea etc. Location wise it is absolutely perfect and a minutes walk from everything. The lovely lady proprietor could...

Stayed here for two nights in July, was particularly disappointed with the breakfast as we had heard it was of a high standard, i would recommend they add some fruit and some fresh orange juice to the menu as bread rolls and croissants dont suit everyone. The room we stayed in was very clean and comfortable but would benefit from...

Hello and thank you for your review. Regarding your comments about the breakfast - there is always orange juice on the table for breakfast, along with croissants. bread and jams, sweet pastries, cereal, yoghurt and cheese. I have tried offering fresh fruit to my guests but it was not eaten, therefore I stopped serving it . I believe we do...

We did want to be in the middle of walled city and this place had decent reviews and availability. The hike with our luggage to get there was no easy feat (hard to find) and the rooms were really small and a little tired looking. Luckily we only stayed there one night and the room served it purpose. We enjoyed...

A very nice short stay at L'Echappee Belle in Carcassonne, which is a small B&B run by the French/Aussie proprietors. Located inside the mediaeval walled city, with access to free local-hotel parking a few minutes' walk away. The Cite is busy, tiny, and basically car-free, and full of restaurants and bars, so plenty of choice to eat. L'Echappee Belle is...

Excellent location at quite central of la Cité! Very nice B&B. Owners are very friendly and help with all kinds of problems/things.. The breakfast was surprisingly good! The rooms were clean and cozy, some of them had a refridgerator. All in all a very good experience. We will go back :) Parking is outside la Cité.

In our travels throughout Europe, this is one of the most charming spaces we have ever stayed. The rooms were comfortable, the view outside the window was incredible, and the proprietors were charming, warm, and accommodating. The breakfast was lovely, particularly thanks to our conversation with the innkeeper. It was great fun swapping stories and learning about the city and...

L' Echapee Belle has a perfect location in the medieval city of Carcassonne, a few steps from Saint Nazaire cathedral. It features simple rooms for a moderate price in the most expensive part of the city. While the old city gets unbelievably busy during Summer holidays, this quiet chamber d'hôte is in a very quiet back street. The owners are...

“Would recommend the room we had; Room 2 on the first floor, it had lovely views of the neighbouring cathedral, a large separate bathroom and lovely decor. Also we had dinner at the Adelaide Restaurant and really enjoyed it! Very nice cassoulet de canard, the €16 set menu was great value for money and service was excellent.”

“All is good. In arriving get detailed info on the access through the walls- very limited vehicle access. The gate closest to St Nazare is probably best.”
