The hotel is centrally situated. So some early morning noise should be expected. The room we had overlooked the courtyard, the room was quiet and well maintained. Staff were helpful, and many spoke English. Breakfast was excellent and the service very good. All in all the hotel was more than adequate for our needs Roz and Annwen

Just back from a Travel Editions tour staying at this hotel. As a result of other reviews, I expressed my concerns to the tour firm shortly after I booked. I was told that 'faded grandeur' probably described the hotel best and this may be true, but I can only say that I was very pleasantly surprised especially in view of...

We stayed here as part of the Traveleditions' Xmas trip to Langedoc Rousillon. Even though we specifically requested a quiet room we were allocated room 103 on arrival - right over the road! We immediately asked to be moved and were told there was only one room left at the back (307). This we gladly accepted because it was at...

This hotel is tired and grubby. The staff have a poor attitude and the head waiter was not interested when we told him at breakfast that the fruit salad was well past its best and the hard boiled eggs were bad. The curtains in the room were torn and the hotel was generally dusty and shabby. This is not 4...

We arrived at the Hotel extremely tired after a very early flight to be allocated a 'standard'room on the third floor. Our first impression was extreme disappointment as the room was small, did not smell fresh and was old and very tired looking. However, we unpacked into drawers and wardrobes that were falling apart at the seams and thought we...

We were looking for a resonably priced hotel for a few days in Montpellier that was suitable for a young familly. I would recommend this hotel for its charm and its excellent location however it is long overdue a refurbishment and the rooms and common areas are very tired looking

Having stayed in Holiday Inn hotels before in the UK, my family and myself were expecting an enjoyable stay when we booked this hotel as part of a package tour to the Languedoc-Roussillon region this summer. We were wrong. The downstairs of the hotel was light and airy. A bit too French for my liking, but nice nonetheless. The staff...

I used to travel a lot for business and leisure across Europe and abroad. This Holiday Inn is really atypic among the HI hotel chain. It is a 19th-early 20th century 4-star hotel with a lot of charm, not the standard, modern, tasteless one from the international hotel chains ! Have a look at the antique elevator in the lobby....

It is strange to see Montpellier's erstwhile Metropole Hotel operating under the Holiday Inn banner: this is just about as far removed as it is possible to get from the standardised American-style accommodation normally associated with the brand. This visit however demonstrated that the hotel manages to combine the elegance and charm of a bygone day (albeit somehat faded) with...

We stayed here for one night in September. Arriving by car is a nightmare as the hotel is in a narrow one way street and you can only stop just to hurl your cases onto the pavement. There was no porter and the people on the reception only took the cases up the steps after they saw I was disabled...
