We stayed at this hotel it needs a total re decoration + staff retraining. The evening meals were very poor one night we were served raw pigeon. Bill for 7 night was over £2,000.00 which was not value for money. We stayed 8 years ago...More
This hotel was touted as a very good one. I am currently staying here and returned from a very long day of sightseeing to find that the elevator was not working and I had to climb four flights of stairs to my room only to...More
I have never stayed in a so-called 4 star hotel that was in such poor shape as the Hotel Imperator. Travelling in my mid-twenties and staying in 2 stars was a better experience.
I realise that the hotel will be closing for renovations this fall,...More
We enjoyed our stay. This is an older hotel, but the beds are comfortable, the service good, and the location is walking distance to a ton of restaurants and the main attractions. The courtyard, bar and sitting are great for lounging. This is NOT a...More

Hi there - you can walk from the train station, through the town centre as long as you don't have much luggage or kids in tow. We took a taxi from right outside which cost (from memory) 10-15 Euros and took about ten minutes. Due to the historic centre the taxi has to go around it so is not as direct as walking. If you are a fit adult with a backpack you could walk in 15-20 minutes - it is about one mile. Best of luck! Andrew
