Having travelled to Nimes for a special celebration we were let down on our booking by another hotel. We found the Imperator online at very short notice. We received a very lovely welcome, which already gave it a huge headstart! We enjoyed being taken up...More
Famous old hotel. From the 30's several famous people stayed here. Breakfast is very good with eggs cooked to order. Classic elevator, just like in the movies. Room key is an adventure with pictures for instructions. Would stay here again anytime
Well it is certainly nowhere near as bad as some reviews have indicated, or perhaps our room did not have some of the issues that others experienced. Sure, it is a little less than perfect in terms of being kept up to date but strangely...More
This is an older hotel but unpretentious and relaxed. There's a sense of space and comfort and is not a clone of American hotels. The room was neither big nor small. Desk staff were very friendly and helpful. It will not suit everybody but it...More
Great ambiance. Old fashioned lift. You need the instructions how to use the key to open the door of your room. Very tight around the bed, the night stands are the size of a dinner plate, had to move the chair to get to the...More

Hi there - you can walk from the train station, through the town centre as long as you don't have much luggage or kids in tow. We took a taxi from right outside which cost (from memory) 10-15 Euros and took about ten minutes. Due to the historic centre the taxi has to go around it so is not as direct as walking. If you are a fit adult with a backpack you could walk in 15-20 minutes - it is about one mile. Best of luck! Andrew
