Detailed Reviews
Alchemy is located by the side of the Palais and in this capacity is fabulously located being in the old beautiful and old medieval centre of Albi. In consequence, the worst problem you will have during your stay is possibly finding it by car. Our satnav went into a chaotic psychosis as we approached the pedestrianised area where the hotel is situated. So many roads have been pedestrianised, which seemed to confuse the technology. This really will be the end of any problems for once the reserved garaging of the car is made in an bijou garage, the rest is adorable. This hotel with about 10 bedrooms oozes comfort and no stone has remained unturned to produce opulence. Our only minor criticism is that it was lovely having a quality coffee machine and free water in the fridge, but both were in a cupboard without lighting, which did make usage quite difficult and a touch dangerous. This is a minor criticism when everything was so perfect
Leaving central Albi was as difficult as arriving. There is a very complicated inner city traffic system in place, that seems to be alien to visitor traffic..

Fabulous hotel - really stylish and great attention to detail. We enjoyed a night here and recommend the breakfast which included fresh fruit and yoghurt as well as the usual bread and viennoiseries.
Dinner was superb in the elegant restaurant and is clearly a spot favoured by locals.

Top notch small hotel. A warm welcome, delightful bedroom, excellent restaurant.
The location is perfect, in the exquisite old town, within easy walking distance of the cathedral and Toulouse-Lautrec museum.
Best of all, breakfast! At Alchimy this is NOT one of those ghastly international buffets offered by 99% of hotels, with lukewarm trays of rubbery eggs, flabby bacon and (horror of horrors) baked beans. Breakfast here was a breath of fresh air. We were led to our table which was already laid with a basket of fresh fruit, and another of wonderful fresh bread and croissants, good butter and jam. A pot of delicious home-made yoghurt was also offered, plus juices and coffee/tea. A proper French petit déj - bravo!

Very kind staff and a beautiful boutique hotel. Centrally located. The rooms are lovely and the bathrooms are very elegant. The staff was very accommodating with any of my questions and they went above and beyond with a pleasant smile. Laura was particularly helpful. I also enjoyed my dinner at the restaurant very much.

Small, very comfortable Hotel with excellent and very friendly service. We had room 1 - large with a spacious seating area and huge bathroom. Everything seemed new and super clean. Breakfast was excellent, especially the coffee, and supper our first night was delicious. They’ve recently opened a bar across the square which serves great cocktails but did make quite a lot of noise late into the evening on our second night. Or perhaps the music was coming from elsewhere.

Pension is very good, no complaints. However, the communication following the forgetting of a dress was catastrophic. I have phoned many times: one shot I was supposed to be rapped, I am waiting again , another time I was supposed to be rapped again, still no phone . After 8 days, I rap I am told that the dress is there, we take a detour of 100 kms and there I am told that the dress was sent by mistake to another couple!! They're gonna do what's necessary and need to keep me posted. A month passes and no news, there I am discouraged and disappointed by this way of doing for a luxury hotel.

A couple of nights away for our wedding anniversary. Excellent welcome and nothing seemed to be a trouble for the bilingual staff. Our room was decorated in a contemporary way without being brash, and spotlessly clean. The only odd thing was that there was no soap in the toilet, and no suggestion that there ever had been - maybe an oversight? That aside, we still have to rate Alchemy as excellent, and will definitely go back there when we return to Albi.

Wonderful hotel with very spacious rooms, very comfortable bed and perfectly clean!
Complete breakfast with pastries and good quality bread!
Closed parking a few meters away.
The restaurant serves varied and good dishes at very reasonable prices.
Finally, adorable and caring staff!
Perfect location just a stone's throw from Sainte Cécile Cathedral and the Lautrec Museum!

Excellent stay in this trendy hotel in the very center of the old town. Nicely refurbished rooms with good quality material (including a nice bathroom), good bedding and very quiet. All good except the size of the room which remains very borderline for a 4 stars hotel. Nice and efficient service, correct pricing. Very recommendable.

Dear Charlie S,
Breakfast is not included in the price of the night.
We have 2 different breakfasts. The continental one costs 11.00€ the full one is 21.00€.
Best,
Yes air condtioning, Central airconditioning. All systems and finished are basically brand new. The design team obviously had luxury in mind when creating the hotel. The Alchimy is a boutique style hotel that was totally renovated and remodeled with in the last couple years. The building was a shell which the current owners built everything inside, from scratch.
Dear PRaine,
We do not have a private car parking, but we do have a partnership with competitive prices with the "Parking des Cordeliers" located 200m from our hotel.
