We had a wonderful stay here and this review is long overdue! Aurifat is a lovely place to stay for a few days (we stayed a week) as the location is perfect for visiting the many stunning towns and villages in the area. Ari and Lucienne are really welcoming, help with local recommendations and make a generous and delicious breakfast everyday. Our room was beautiful and absolutely spotless - we enjoyed having a balcony and a huge window with a view over the countryside. The pool is also a plus especially if staying a few days.

We stayed for two nights, owners are super nice, room was very comfortable, clean and newly renovated. New owners! Breakfast was served in the room or on the patio, it was awesome!
I highly recommend this « Auberge »!!!

We booked a two-night stay in the 'double room with balcony'. Whilst other rooms had large wooden balconies, ours had a table and two chairs just outside the front door - this arrangement didn't feel like a balcony which was disappointing. First impressions of the room were mixed: whilst adequately equipped and very clean, the attic room was small and very hot due to the summer temperatures (30 deg). A desk-top fan helped but with hindsight, we would have preferred one of the larger rooms with better ventilation. Lucienne and Arie welcomed us warmly and provided a delicious breakfast. The general location was peaceful and the scenery superb. The garden with large pool was a real treat and we were pleased to have booked for two nights so we could enjoy both. The walk to the town was steep but manageable with good shoes and a bottle of water - sitting with an 'apero' admiring the view from the top made it all worthwhile!

We stayed one night in Aurifat to visit Cordes, but if we had known how beautiful and tranquil this place was, we probably would have booked another night. The house is a short but steep walk away from the beautiful town Cordes, and it feels like being in the middle of nowhere - in a good way! The garden is the perfect place to relax with a pretty large swimming pool and an amazing view of the surrounding fields and woods. The owners were nice and helpful and made a great breakfast which we enjoyed at the small scenic backyard. There was plenty of space for parking at the property as well. Aurifat is really the perfect place for relaxing and photographing.

We headed up to a remarkable French village in the hills for a two day sojourn on our drive from Bordeaux to Lyon and had a magical stay at Aurifat: spectacular sunny skies and green fields encircled our balcony and cobblestoned pathways took us into the historic centre of town. Rather like a petite Carcassonne, the fortified village provided a high vantage from which to drink in the stunning natural surrounds and the nostalgic architecture and gardens.

Our hosts took care of all of comforts and provided a superior bed and breakfast. Great value for money for any traveller with a discerning eye.

Lovely place to stay. The hosts Luciana and Ari were very helpful. Our room was good with a very comfy bed and pillows. It was extremely hot but a fan was supplied. Shower was brand new and clean not sure about the hot water as it was cold showers by choice due to the heat this summer. Breakfast was offered to us on our deck or down on the patio which was our choice. Pool was fantastic and the setting was very good. We had a lot of trouble finding Aurifat car GPS never picked it up and had to resort to google maps on my phone, but once found no more issues. We really enjoyed our 2 days at Aurifat, Cordes sur Ciel is a stunning village to spend a couple of days or more at if you have the time.
Locals are extremely friendly and recommended a restaurant slightly out of town where we had the best meal of our trip .
