Nice modern reception area but unmanned on arrival (3pm). Lift was tiny and old Room was large with big bed and a choice of pillows and lots of towels, tea and coffee facilities. Bathroom with separate toilet was pretty rank, bath and toilet badly stained which makes it look unclean. In urgent need of refurbishment! Breakfast good but don't rely...

Hotel easy to find, just off the ring road around Caen and handy from the ferry. Typical Novotel, very clean large rooms with comfy beds. Our room faced the road where there is a tram way which was a little noisy, but did not bother us too much. Breakfast was very nice with the usual selection of food. We found...

Room was nice and clean, comfy bed. Hotel is certainly nicer inside than it looks on the outside. Front desk staff were a bit rude, restaurant staff were great and the food was really nice (which was lucky as there is only 1 other place in the nearby area). It served its purpose but I wouldn't say it's worthy of...

Dear EdinBen, We would like to thank you for letting us your feelings. We are being renovated that is why our hotel becomes more welcoming inside than outside. Our customers' satisfaction is our priority. We would like to apologize after your impressions of the hotel staff. We made up internally feedback, for it does not happen again. Sincerely yours.

We booked this hotel more for it's location than anything else. Located on the Caen ring road it's about a 20 minute walk from the town centre through a fairly dull residential area. The rooms were as comfortable as any Novotel but the rest of the hotel was quite a disappontment. The property is clearly showing it's age, both outside...

This hotel likes to claim it's certified sustainable, and while that may be the case, let me just warn you now, while there's still hope for you, that what "sustainable" means is actually "no air conditioning." In summer. So if you enjoy sleeping in a balmy 76 degrees, this place is for you! Oh, they claim to have air conditioning....

Visited with my 91 year old Dad. Requested and got GF room and upgraded to bigger room so ended up with 2 doubles. Good reception, booked in advance, minimal fuss and we were unpacked in 30 mins, having driven from London. Clean hotel, good breakfast, more continental with bacon, sausages and scrambled egg but all self serve so no excuse...

I have realised that Novotel hotels in Australia are very different to Novotel hotels in France. This hotel is average at best. I am a gold Accor Le Club member and I find it extremely frustrating that I have to ask for the benefits that go with this. When I asked for the VIP gift I got given some more...

Probably the worst four star hotel I have stayed in. The decor and facilities would best be described as shabby and the standard of food as poor. Breakfast was cold on all of the days we stayed. Rooms were clean and beds comfortable but the showers were poor and the coffee making facilities below average with only paper cups and...

Having used the hotel last year we thought we would come back. The rooms have been refurbished and are clean and comfortable. The showers are excellent. The food in the restaurant both for breakfast and evening meal is good and the staff are friendly. It's location just off the ring road makes it easy to get to.

We used this hotel as a base for day-trips to the Normandy coast and the D-day beaches - and as such it worked out fine. The hotel itself is ok but nothing special.
