This hotel is located in one of the Auguste Perret blocks, the architect who was contracted to rebuild Le Havre after its destruction near the end of World War II. It is located in the city center; areas to eat and drink, the beach, the espace Oscar Niemeyer, the passenger terminal and the railway stations are all within reach. We...

Room 1 has kitsch in spades! A blue & white nautical theme with busy wallpaper & the obligatory set of sailing knots on the wall. Good points : bed & shower ok, kettle, tea & coffee provided, clean and very quiet (no interior/exterior noise). On the negative side, only zigzag partitions between bedroom & loo or bathroom. Rather stuffy &...

Superb location in 'Perret' '50's architecture area - incredible to see the level of detailing achievable in concrete. St Joseph's church is a marvel. Excellent choice of eating out in the area, all within 5 mins walk. Hotel room was decorated like a kitch seaside room! all shades of blue. Very clean, and the double glazing very successful in shutting...

Located in the UNESCO modern architecture heritage zone; rebuilt after WWII. Close to shops, art museum and cinema. Large low stairs. Mine was a nice blue and white bedroom. TV included Canal + channels. Had a very good breakfast on Sunday; with older French folks. 4th-floor room faced road so a bit noisy late on Friday and Saturday nights. Some...

Just like the city of Le Havre, you have to look further than de facade to appriciate this hotel. It's seems all a bit out of style and old fashioned, but it works. The staff welcomes you in a warm homely atmosphere. The rooms with the balkony overlooking the streets of Le Havre are a plus. For a french budget...

We stayed at the Richelieu as a stop-over during a road trip, and it was exactly as expected--a no frills hotel that has a good price and location. It's walking distance to a number of decent restaurants, and there's a boulangerie next door (where you can find breakfast for less than what the hotel charges). On the other hand, the...

After exchanging emails from home we called Isabelle from the Le Havre train station upon arrival from CDG on 27March09. Rooms were still available so we taxi'd over (8 euros). She showed the 4 rooms that were available and we selected the 50 euro/nite (w/o breakfast) room on the 1st floor (the ground flr is zero) with balcony overlooking the...
