Unlike every other luxury hotel in France we've been to (and where our furry friend has been made most welcome) this hotel bans pets. However whilst this is the prerogative of the hotel owner the issue is that this 'unusual for France' policy is not stated on the website and when I made an enquiry the response stated 'animals are...

We stayed 2 nights at the start of our Loire Chateau and Abbey sightseeing. The youthful reception staff all spoke commendable English and made sure we could find our way around. The hotel breakfast was one of the best we had during our journey. Dined one night at the hotel, though the restaurant was officially closed that evening. Another night...

Dear Hobart, We thank you for sharing your experience. As a cultural center, the royal abbey organises many shows, concerts and exhibitions all over the year. All informations are available on our website. Olivier Châble

We had the luxury and privilege to be a guest in this stunning hotel set in the grounds of the famous Fontevraud Abbey. We arrived just before Christmas and the place was deserted but the staff were friendly and extremely accommodating and we had a great dinner in the bar. The hotel is beautifully designed with the right balance of...

I wish we had had more time to enjoy the facilities and explore. We booked this as a stopover on our way from Paris to Bordeaux. For a host of reasons, it took us longer to get here than we assumed, so we arrived much later in the day than expected and it drastically cut into our ability to enjoy...

Dear Ellen, Thank you so much for sharing such a lovely and poetic opinion on tripAdvisor. The atmosphere is really different in every season. I am sure that you would love spring time for all the colors and perfumes we have in and around the abbey. Kind regards. Olivier Châble

We did a whirlwind trip to the Loire Valley over our Thanksgiving holiday, so stayed only one night. The room itself (a family unit) worked well for us and our son--we had the upstairs room, and he enjoyed the living area below with its sleeping nooks. Pretty basic, but good function--bedside reading lights, comfortable beds, power outlets, good shower. The...

My mother, sister and I stayed at Fontevraud for one night, and it was the highlight of France for me. I do have to preface that by saying we didn't have a great time in France, but Fontevraud is absolutely incredible. We had previously been in Bordeaux (which was filthy) and Poitiers (which was a cute town, but the language...

My husband and I stayed at the hotel for a weekend in October, 2016, and I have mixed feelings about this property. I loved being able to wander around the abbey at night as the grounds/buildings are beautiful. Prior reviewers have commented negatively about the distance from the parking lot and lack of assistance with luggage - we had no...

Dear guests, We are glad to read that you have mostly enjoyed your stay with us. Sometimes, it results difficult to connect devices to the wifi. During your stay, the wifi system was working. Maybe there was a firewall in your device that was protecting it ? Anyway, we will find a solution to detect such a situation and solve...

Room was simple but very stylish, and conveyed high class and impeccable taste. Restaurant was unfortunately not open (it's an expensive gourmet deal), but breakfast was fantastic. Hotel is very quiet, and the best part of it is that you can wander around the grounds and go into the abbey at all hours. Fontevraud is an amazing place to visit....

Dear guests, We thank you for sharing your opinion on TripAdvisor. Fontevraud L'Hôtel is located in a XIIth century building. Every floor has his specificity and, if all rooms have the same level of comfort, they do not have the same size. The smallest room is 17 square meter, the biggest 24. A stay at the heart of Fontevraud Royal Abbey? A night with Eleanor of Aquitaine, Queen of France and then Queen of England? Fontevraud L'Hotel offers an incomparable experience. At the Saint-Lazare priory, formerly the home of a community of nuns, the tradition of hospitality that is an intrinsic part of this place is being renewed.
