This hotel is located about a 25 minute walk to the old town of Le Mans, which the lovely receptionist recommended seeing - and she was right. We stayed one night on our way through France. The room was on the ground floor and looked out to an inner courtyard, which would be nice in the summer, The room was...

We booked three nights at Le Charleston upon arriving in France, and it was a lovely place to start our holiday. Because our flight into Paris was late at night, and by the time we got a train to Le Mans,it was after the doors were locked we used the key code sent to us by the owners with instructions...

My fiancé and I stopped here for the night on the way from Quiberon to Paris. The hotel staff was very pleasant and gave us a slightly larger room for our discounted price. My only slight comments are 1) the room smelled like smoke, though it was non-smoking, 2) the tub was slippery and 3) the breakfast was just okay...

We had small cases and wanted to be very close to the station. It was a perfectly reasonable area and the hotel was clean and quiet. Our room wasn't huge, but good value at €75 a night - weekends are cheaper. It's about 15 minutes brisk walk to the main centre, but there were a couple of bars only 3/4...

Le Charleston was a gem, beautifully decorated in theme and very well thought out. It has been renovated fairly recently by the looks, all is immaculate. The buffet breakfast was good, expesso coffee if you ask for it, croissants to die for, plus the usual selections. Close to the town centre, a few hundred yards to the nearest tram stop...

This hotel was recommended by Lonely Planet, which I had come to trust. Unfortunately, they got this one wrong. It is in a distant part of town, more than 25 minutes walk from the old town. The building is quite old, and one can hear water running in other rooms and footsteps traipsing the floor at all hours of the...

Hello M. TUCKETT, I am very sorry that our hotel didn't fit your standards. I really apologize for the client upstairs who made a mess all night long that night. As you noticed, Le Charleston is the first rated hotel in Le Mans on Tripadvisor and on BOOKING.COM. The hotel has been entirely renovated 3 years ago with soundprrofing. Every...

Stayed here last week while traveling in France. The huge advantage is that the hotel has a basement parking garage, book at the time you're booking your room. It is basic enough, but comfortable, immaculately clean, and well located. A 2 minute walk gets you to the tram stop, and 2 stops on is place de la republique in the...

We stopped here for one night before catching the ferry home. I'm still one of those dinosaurs who doesn't have a Sat Nav in the car, so we had some difficulty finding the place. It is in a street just parallel to the North side of the station and if you are in the city centre, just follow the tram...

Value for money hotel, near train station. Decor unique but tasteful. Very clean and modern rooms. Outdoor bar area with couches, very pleasant. A taxi is required to get to the old town but this means The Charleston is quiet. We did not reserve parking, which we would have liked to, but parking on the street was available and reasonably...
