A beautiful hotel and grounds. The service and restaurant are over the top. The rooms are nicely appointed. The grounds are nice even have a hedge maze. The bar is magical it isn't cheap but worth the price

We have often drive through France to visit St Jean de Luz, a coastal town near the Spanish border on the Atlantic side. Half way down is the Chateau de Noirieux, near Angers. This is a collection of old buildings, including a chapel, set in beautiful grounds with a view across the river plane and woodlands beyond. This is one...

We had one night here. When we win the lottery we'll move in. The property itself is beautiful and built around some lovely old buildings. The room was large and comfortable. The dining room takes it all to another level. The standard of service for hotel and restaurant is exceptional. The food was sensational. It is, of course, not inexpensive....

Our room was spacious but not in the main chateau. The value for money however was just not there. When I requested an iron I was told there was no iron available but I could use there "dry cleaning" and was told the cost for just pressing one dress was 18 Euros. I had 2 dresses that required pressing. At...

A beautiful chateau overlooking La Loir set in a very quiet parkland area. We stayed in the main hotel and had a corner room overlooking the restaurant terrace and front tea lawn. So quiet and such lovely long distance views. Because we were feelingly lazy we ate on the terrace each of the three nights we stayed. Normally we would...

Nice location, very nice rooms, beautiful grounds, had dinner with the kids in the bistro dining room (not the posh one) and the service wasn't that great, lot of staff but slow, food was quite good. Overall it was a good stay and we all really enjoyed the pool.

Upon arrival you already get impressed by the setting of this chateau : big entry gate, impressive drive lane,... Staff is immediately helpful to carry the luggage to the room. The location of the hotel is wonderful : located on the ridge of a little hill, overlooking the river, with different building on the area. There is an outdoor pool...

Weve stayed in 3 chateaux during our holiday in France. This was the most disappointing. The food was good, but our room was tiny! We has a second floor room which was so small we had to put our cases in the window sill! No complimentary water or hot drink making facilities in the room during some of the hottest...

We celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary at this beautiful chateau last week and all the staff made it very special. On arrival we were given a free upgrade to a beautiful suite, the room was fantastic, spotlessly clean. The service throughout our stay was discreetly perfect, the restaurant terrace, service and food were excellent, there was even a beautiful small...

My husband and I decided we wanted to get out of Paris for an evening and spend a relaxing day/night in the Loire Valley. We rely heavily on Relais and Chateaux recommendations and as this was one of their top rated in the region we felt confident the experience would be nothing but suburb. It was not. The staff was...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Lying at the heart of a 9-hectare estate composed of magnificent one-hundred- and two-hundred-year-old trees, cradled in the scents of the domain's walnut, cedar and linden trees, the Château de Noirieux is an exceptional Relais & Châteaux hotel that offers a setting of greenery as far as the eye can see. Fifteen kilometres from Angers, in Briollay, this patrician residence reveals an elegant classical façade in freestone overlooking the Loir valley. The rooms offering 4-star comfort are in the Louis XVI, Louis XV and Louis XIII style at the Chateau. Its 15th-century Manor houses pretty rooms in a Rustic style with view over the grounds. In terms of cuisine, our Michelin-starred chef invites to his table and endeavours to show off in their best light the jewels of the terroir of French Riviera and northern Italy through a cuisine at once traditional and contemporary, full of flavour to satisfy the most discerning palate. The excellence of the product is exploited according to his tastes, his expertise and his passing whims. ... more   less
