A relatively nice hotel but very little in the way of 'extras'. We had no tea of coffee facilities and no water in the room. I also don't seem to recall any toiletries. We didn't have the evening meal as it was very expensive for what it was. Breakfast was quite nice but it felt that everything was allocated -...

We had the suite, as recommended on TA, and it was a huge bedroom, with the back wall carved out of the rock face, dressing area, big bathroom with double sink and great shower. Kettle in large shared area (two levels, with library nook carved into the limestone), but no fridge. The only accommodation which could not provide a beer....

We recently stayed for one night at Ami Chenin and once there, we wished we had been staying longer. We were warmly met by owner France, and her brother-in-law Hervé, who made us feel very welcome. We stayed in a Suite which was gorgeous and semi-troglodytic, so typical of the area and just the experience we wanted. Spacious bedroom/living room,...

We had two nights at France & Xavier's amazing B&B. It was hands down one of the best experiences we had in the Loire. We had one of the best meals of our trip at their home cooked dinner. They were wonderful hosts who went above and beyond to make our stay as great as possible. A must stay for...

The building was amazing - built into the cliff face with the cliff still showing inside the hotel. Our room was enormous. Our hosts were absolutely brilliant - what lovely, lovely people. Our evening meal was wonderful, the choice of wines extensive. As a stop-over it was almost a waste - stay longer than we did!

We stayed one night and had booked dinner in advance. In every way our expectations were exceeded. A beautiful and fascinating house built into the rock face, great rooms tastefully furnished and decorated and a suburb dinner. The location is excellent; just outside Saumur and with views over the Loire. A perfect spot for a stopover.

We really enjoyed our visit here and found France and Xavier to be funny, charming, and helpful. The building was historic and interesting and the gated front garden helped it to seem very rustic with privacy. We enjoyed the sense of independence and yet meeting new travelers at a lovely breakfast outside in the garden (homemade brioche, jams and yogurt...

We stayed here for two nights in September and found it all a little surreal. Quirky, for sure but in a very odd way. We didn't really feel particularly welcome despite making a real effort with our French. The owner assured us that his wife spoke good English and yet during our stay she hardly spoke a word to us...

We stayed one night at France & Xavier's B&B. They were very hospitable and helpful. They also have a great table d'hôte, serving a 3 course meal at reasonable prices with a local wine list. The only downside is the state of the room can use a bit of update. The bed wasn't the most comfortable. For a no-frills stay,...

While cycling in France we stay one night at Ami Chenin. The large room with fireplace was very comfortable. Our hosts were very helpful with locating restaurants and even had a discount coupon for us to visit a local wine cave. Which we were not aware was in the area ... made the stop and were glad we did!! Would...
