This isn't a modern hotel and that is very much part of its charm. Creaky staircases and sloping floors lead up to reasonably large and neatly decorated bedrooms furnished with comfortable, old, not particularly smart, furniture. Bathrooms are clean but don't expect shiny chrome. All in all it is a bit like staying in your elderly French aunt's house. Staff...

On the last leg to home. Pleasant hotel with great food - dinner and breakfast. Staff very pleasant. Secure parking although somewhat tight if you have a big car to navigate into the garage. The room was fine for a one night stay - the bathroom very small - suggest some shelves need to go up in Room 20's bathroom...

This is a very old building next to the centre of the medieval part of Laon. The rooms are not modern but that is part of the charm. The owner and staff are very friendly and make you feel very welcome. Breakfast was very nice, we did not have dinner at the hotel but the dining room looked fabulous.

I stayed at the Hotel de la Bannière with a group of college students on January 16th. The proprietor and his family could not have been more welcoming. The rooms were lovely and the beds were very comfortable. The farewell dinner they prepared for us was exceptional and would have easily cost 2 1/2 to 3 times as much in...

The hotel was quite old fashioned, but a very friendly reception and very helpful employees. Our room was very comfortable (triple) on the second floor. When we booked we were informed that only 2 rooms were available, but it was actually on arrival quite empty. We ate in the restaurant in the evening - the atmosphere was very quite as...

Some things don't change in Laon which is wonderful, but perhaps certain improvements should be made. We had the same room as before which had not been improved, if anything had deteriorated, although photographs on the website show others have been updated. (We use this on the first floor because of slight mobility difficulties). As before attentive friendly service and...

This hotel is up in the medieval town. It has parking thank goodness, but it doesn't have an elevator, and there are no rooms on the ground floor. We found it comfortable but for me who is a bit handicapped, the walk to the only available room on the third floor was enough that we only stayed the one night....

We recently stayed here for the second year running. Great atmosphere, lovely staff, and a really good restaurant- we ate in three nights running and the food and wine were excellent. The big mystery is why people stay at the hotel but choose to eat elsewhere, as they are really missing out.

We have stayed here several times in the last few years, twice this year already. We travel frequently in a vintage vehicle and the garage is ideal. The rooms are quirky and individual, and the restaurant is excellent. The owner and his staff are all very friendly and welcoming. The town of Laon is fascinating and a walk around it...

Found ourselves booking in at this hotel on a Sunday after our car unfortunately broke down on the motorway on our return back to the UK. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful, making phone calls to the garage for us and sending and receiving emails/fax in order to help us get the car repaired as soon...
