Hotel's Favourite
Absolutely loved our stay here. All staff were happy and friendly and it feels as though everything is cared about from the cleaning, general look of the place and furnishings to the breakfast. The location is excellent, we parked the car opposite the hotel on the Friday evening when we arrived and didn’t use it again until we left on the Sunday morning. Perfect in every way.

Nice little hotel in Cognac, the room was very clean and had air conditioning which we needed as the temperature was up in the 40’s that day. The bathroom and the toilet were a little small. The breakfast was self service and had a good selection, you could take your trays out to the courtyard and eat there. All in all a nice experience, the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Was pleasantly surprised with hotel . Although the room we had was very cosy in size it was clean & the owners were very pleasant . We dined at a local restaurant which they suggested which unfortunately was a bad choice ! The bed was very comfortable with very quiet a/c . The breakfast , what breakfast ? Very expensive at over €9 pp for a croissant , nasty jam , they had run out of eggs ??? I always use my own tea so just some milk & hot water a baby croissant with a dash of jam ! The excuse was they didn’t expect so many for breakfast ???
We would stay again but find somewhere else for breakfast !

The Hotel is located in the center. So location wise excellent. the room was on the small side and not even a small fridge to keep things.
the staff was nice and helpful. Parking was fairly easy at the door.

I have now stayed in the Cheval Blanc four times, and find it an excellent value. About a 10-15 minute walk from the train station, it is within easy walking distance of everything in Cogac. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the family very helpful. They use codes instead of keys or cards, and this works fine, making entry easy. I will definitely stay here again, for I really love this beautiful medieval city (even without the fabled drink).

Great little Hotel, a find.
Family run, intelligently modernised, in centre of town, breakfast room very neat, good price.
We arrived very late, no problem. We stayed in one of the Family rooms built recently, I'd guess 2004, as an extension at the rear of Hotel, twin bed + 1 single bed, + shower+toilet, Air-con in the room, and central heating. Simple room, Motel style.
Clean, good price, walking distance to anywhere in town, parking outside the Hotel, which is 'payant' - pay-meters.

The family room was very nice and large. The bathroom was simple but efficient. The beds were good. The airconditioning was functioning well. The owners were very accomodating and stayed up until 1 in the morning to let us onto the parkinglot. Breakfast was nice. We would love to come back some day.

For an incredibly low price this hotel offers a clean and very comfortable room in an enviable location. The staff was as good as it gets even compared to quite expensive hotels. A more than adequate breakfast and even a few in courtyard parking spots add to the ease of staying here. It’s close to everything and for the price deserves 5+ stars!

My husband and I booked this hotel based on the reviews from tripadviser I understand everyone has different ideas and experiences and I accept what one person finds acceptable others may not. On our arrival the lady on reception was very pleasant and helpful explained the parking facilities 6 euros a night even mentioned that we could park free in the carpark outside the hotel from 5.30pm until 9am in the morning we decided 6 euros wasn't that bad so just parked in the grounds. The room we were given was on the ground floor and seemed to be adjusted to suit disabled travellers which was good feature. the room was too small but the bathroom was about half the size of the bedroom the bed was comfortable but the decor was very tired and in much need of attention the whole area was dark and a bit depressing due to poor lighting and there was only a small window so not much natural light.. We stayed in this hotel for two nights
glad not there for anymore than this no wardobes as such only some open hanging space and shelving. The breakfast which was perfectly acceptable cost 7.50euros. During our stay we didn't find the host very welcoming we passed through reception various times and he didn't lift his head from the computer. We have never been in a hotel abroad where the TV has only French channels no world news. On the whole our expectations for this hotel were very disappointing and could not based on our stay recommend it to anyone and we certainly would not revisit.
