Just spent 4 nights here, compared to the prize it didn’t meet the expectation. We finished our breakfast before we were asked what hot drink we wanted, and waited 20 min for the eggs! On our departure we had asked for the car to be ready at 6 am, we came Down to an empty reception and no car. And waited for 20 min for them, to get our car from the garage! Otherwise the personel was nice and helpful.

This is a souped up typical old three star French hotel, mostly located in a faded concrete midrise tower. Tastefully decorated, but that's about it. Rooms are nothing special and boxy, checkout time is 11:00 which room service will enforce somewhat brutally. Don't reserve through their completely dysfunctional website, we were charged twice and are still waiting for a refund after repeated requests. La Rochelle is a wonderful city with better options.

The hotel pretends to be high-end but is understaffed. Long waitings in line in front of the reception just to get a room key, no internet password in the room, so another waiting at the reception - no draft beer available (although three different types on the menu), no wine glasses, dirty and wet toilets, simply not enough service. I carried bottles and drinks myself because I felt pity for the staff, who try their best but cannot cope with the crowd. Was here on a busy and sunny Sunday in July - somehow the management can foresee, that it might get full and mitigate risks of underserving... The room was not available before 5 pm, this is an absolute no-go, so you better don't go. Maybe in November, the ratio of staff and clients might work out.

Absolutely wonderful hotel. A secret gem a stones throw from the port and nestled in between listed buildings. Fantastic staff, comfortable and quiet room facing the pool. Thoroughly enjoyed it. The towels were dreamy we felt like in a spa in the room. Will be back!

My family and I had a wonderful stay at Maison des Ambassadeurs. The valet was waiting for us upon arrival and the reception staff were very accommodating and professional. There is nothing better than arriving in a clean and fresh room after a long trip. The room decoration was chic without being over-bearing and the beds were heaven. We loved the signature hotel soaps and creams in the bathroom and the scent in the main hall. The staff told us it was made for the hotel!! We spent our time walking around the charming town and in the early evening, enjoying the spa. The two of un indulged in a massage which was five star!!! It has been awhile since I have had a massage that good. The bar was closed because of COVID but we ordered food and drinks in the room. The selection of local beer and wine was lovely. We have already booked another weekend with our friends and their children. Even the kids said they loved it. A must see!!!!
