Paul Cézanne missed Aix terribly whenever he left, and never ceased to be inspired by its beauty. Many after him succumbed to the charm of this town and the ambience of this Florentine residence. The rooms are sumptuously decorated, and open onto a private garden filled with the fragrance of lavender. The cuisine pays tribute to Provence with dishes like sautéed loin of lamb and aubergine caviar with olives, black garlic sauce and fried basil. Try the famous local speciality of Calisson, sweets flavoured with melon and orange. Villa Gallici offers a special “Cézanne package”, which includes a visit to the painter’s studio.

Nestled in a picturesque setting, Villa Gallici garners acclaim for its exceptional amenities, including a top-tier restaurant and beautifully maintained gardens. The hotel's rooms, adorned with baroque decor and quality amenities, ensure a tranquil and plush experience, as noted by numerous guests. While some travelers feel the dining options are overpriced, this is often offset by the hotel's professional and attentive staff, who are regularly commended for elevating guest experiences with their warmth. Despite some concerns over value, the enchanting atmosphere and prime location continue to be a draw for many visitors.

To celebrate an anniversary we treated ourselves to a short stay in this splendid house. Our experience far exceeded the highest expectations we had.
The staff are genuinely courteous and the manager Laurent was affable and together with the reception staff assisted us in every way.
The property is located in a quiet location a short walk from the center of Aix en Provence and is located in an area of beautiful residences. So very quiet.
Once you arrive, a splendid gate adorned with fleur de lys opens the doors to this little corner of paradise where nothing is left to chance. You truly enter the most elegant atmosphere of France and Provence of this which was once a private villa. The gardens are meticulously maintained and while walking through them you can admire sculptures and works of art in a small open-air museum.
In the afternoon on the splendid terrace above the swimming pool, in the shade of centuries-old trees, you are invited to tea at Villa Gallici with the patisserie du jour. This is also beautiful.
Very elegant breakfast and beautiful interior spaces for reading and relaxation.
We were accommodated in one of the Villas with a small private outdoor garden and private jacuzzi. Wonderful experience.
We didn't try the restaurant, but we were recommended for dinner in a very nice place by the hotel.
Villa Gallicci is worth every kilometer traveled to get there, every euro spent to stay there and it is a place that we will carry forever in our hearts and in our most beautiful memories.

We booked Villa Gallici as a last minute add on of Aix to our trip to France and it was a smart decision.

If you enjoy 5 star but smaller hotels (eg, SLH family), this place is hard to beat (our first time at a R&C, and we’re scratching our heads now as to why).

We were there for quick 2 night stay to enjoy walking, shopping and eating our way through the old town, while having a calm base with a nice pool to relax at while we were there, and Villa Gallici was perfect.

The main pool area and gardens are over the top luxurious. The photos “do it justice” but once you’re there it’s really a sight and scene to behold.

The room was spectacularly ornate (if you can appreciate the 18th century frozen in time charm) with a great bathroom, terrace and balcony which we took advantage of for morning and afternoon espresso and the view.

Location is great - 7 mins to the best hole in the wall bakery in Aix, and 10 minute walk max to the old town. Close enough to get to but set far back enough to be completely quiet and relaxing.

Only discernible area that they need to improve upon as a 5 star is the pool service and daytime menu. Used and abandoned towels are left there for other guests (us) to remove, and you have to grab someone from the spa to call upstairs if you want to order anything off the menu (which is a bit too limited).

Other than that though, which I’m writing just to help them improve, it’s hard to do better than the Villa Gallici - outstanding place. Thank you Matteo and team.

Villa Gallici is lovely, perfect for our first trip to the south of France. We stayed in a deluxe room with a few overlooking the gardens. Breakfast and dinner on the terrace are not to be missed, it’s a beautiful setting. Our room was very quiet, with blackout curtains for sleeping.

Villa Gallici is about a 12 minute walk into the center of Aix-en-Provence with a slight grade on the restrung walk. Taxi cabs and Ubers are pretty easily available if you don’t want to walk.

What a surprise to discover this exceptional house a few steps from the city center of Aix-en-Provence.

Upon arrival, the welcome given by LĂ©a was extremely professional and warm. All the reception, restaurant, room service teams, not forgetting the room service, are very attentive and take great care to enhance your stay.

We had lunch at the restaurant and enjoyed the cuisine of chef Christophe Gavot: both traditional and daring. The ingredients used are local, of very high quality and extremely well processed. Every bite is a pleasure for the taste buds in this restaurant which fully deserves its Gault et Millau Toque de Chef rating!

What can we say about the baroque decoration that reigns in this establishment - where each room, each living room, is a museum piece to be admired for hours.

Special mention for the breakfast which surprised us with the quality of the products, the variety of the buffet and the presentation which will amaze you. There are a lot of local and exceptionally fresh products, which is very appreciated.

We thank the entire team and its director, Laurent Mounet, for leaving us with fabulous memories and making us want to stay again in Villa Gallici.

We stayed one night as part of our honeymoon in France, and we really enjoyed hotel’s classic interiors, very nice room condition and hospitality. All staffs have great manners and I could felt that the hotel is tying to give pleasure and surprises to the guest in all moments. Best part was the swimming pool. It is a little bit far from the town but the town is safe so it was not difficult to walk all the way.

A very charming house with pleasant scents in all the corridors, very beautiful decoration, the staff is so kind and professional. It really feels like you're being warmly welcomed into someone's home.

My experience was excellent from arrival to departure, we were greeted very friendly by the valet who took our luggage and parked my car in the charging station. The staff is available and very friendly at all times.
The room was very beautiful and the welcome tray with the roses is something very special and unique.

We had dinner in the hotel's gourmet restaurant, the service was excellent and the food was delicious as well as the wine!

We slept in the most comfortable bed in the world, like on a cloud.

We don't want to leave Villa Gallici, and once we have left it, we already dream of going back!

Thank you Villa Gallici, I will keep this memory forever! :)

On arrival, valet to park our van, baggage handler, butler of Pension with little care like all the other staff besides. We spent 3 very pleasant days at the end of September early October as part of a gift box, without difficulty to book (3 nights, 2 meals) and had the surprise and happiness of being upgraded. Barely 10 minutes walk from the city center. What more can I ask? The garden is certainly not very large but very pretty and perfectly well maintained, our dog Sirius was able to stretch his legs there. Pool and spa on top. Thanks to Michel and Guillaume who amused us with their verbal jousting but also to all the morning and evening staff. One regret however: that of having to leave to continue our trip....Good courage and thank you to all this beautiful team!

I have been at Villa Gallici the first time and had to leave after three days to another hotel, due to some pre-reservations. Arrived at the other hotel, I missed Villa Gallici from the first second on. The staff is of incredible warmth and the place gives you the feeling of staying in a private house with the hosts really being interested in your thoughts and well-being rather than just seeing it as a job. I had the impression of true passion and the special and unique character of the house underline the impression. The location of the Villa is also exceptionally good and lets you walk to all major sights within approx. ten minutes, very convenient in a city like Aix, where most of the old town is restricted for cars. All in all it was a pleasant and positive surprising stay that I have not expected and I can’t wait to come back!!!

This is a very good hotel with only really one flaw (see below).

It is a charming old French mansion just 10 minutes or so walk from the centre of Provence. We found the service to be excellent from everyone we encountered. Everyone was warm and helpful. In particular, would like to mention the young lady who checked us in and the concierge who gave us a couple of good recommendations.

The room we were in was extremely comfortable and very grand. Liked the way it was furnished. The setting is probably the hotel's selling point - it is a beautiful location and sitting at the pool area is very relaxing. The pool itself is great, as is the nearby jacuzzi. Breakfast is very good mainly for the setting on the balcony. The wine served by the poor could be better (avoid the rose - yuk! - white wine is better) but it's a minor point.

There is only one thing really that lets it down - the restaurant. We only ate there one night so it may have been having an off day, but all the three course were bland and tasteless. For instance, I had beef stew and mash and it was pretty terrible - I can do a much better stew than that and I don't cook much. Not sure what was going on with the squashed mash. Even the amuse bouches were tasteless.

If you eat in town though (be sure to speak to the excellent concierge as I don't think Aix has any excellent restaurants - our favourite was Le Chastel), then it is a wonderful experience staying at this hotel and seeing Aix.

We strayd a few days following our engagement, the staff was very attentive and went the extra mile to ensure we have a pleasant stay. There are a limited number of rooms which makes it very appreciable as it remains quiet throughout the different areas. Would most definetely stay again! Hotel team is amazing, thank you again!
