We had reserved a room here back in March for 4 nights in August but, much to our surprise, we found out that hotel/restaurant had closed down without notice a few months ago. As you can imagine, this was quite disappointing, what with the time we had spent choosing the "perfect" place in Arles and the fact that getting a...

This restaurant/hotel may offer a different experience in summer, but here’s our low season experience. The room was very large, clean, and equipped with new, modern, furnishings including king size bed and flat panel TV. The bathroom was also outfitted with new, modern fixtures including a “rain” type deluge shower head great water pressure and plenty of hot water. Large,...

We stayed here in September 2011 on a one-night stop-off during our tour of Provence. We were in a rental car and be warned - Arles is not great to drive around! If you can get a Sat-Nav and the location of the multi-storey car park then you'll be ok but the streets are absolutely tiny (almost like big pavements)...

My friends arrived at this small, 4 room inn after a long train ride from Paris on a Sunday and the innkeeper was nowhere to be found. We waited at the main gate for awhile until 2 kind ladies who worked at the inn came by and let us in and showed us to our rooms. Both our rooms were...

Le Barreme was one of the best places we have stayed in France. Agnes truly goes out of her way to ensure your comfort. She is a professional and assures "un vrai accueil chaleureux". The amenities are up to date, everything is clean and well-managed. The good folks who work for her are equally as friendly and welcoming. If you're...

We come to Arles now and then to visit the photo exhibition in summer. 2 years ago we stayed at the Bareme and were happy to return to this little hotel, nested in a very quiet street 50m from the Forum in Arles. This is a great place if you are looking for a family style, homy, quiet little place....

We stayed at le Barrème recently and found it an incredibly overpriced experienced. We had chosen to stay in the Forum apartment which is a basement flat nicely renovated. But it was incredibly dark and humid. As the only windows are tiny and overlook the street, you also hear the noise of the neraby bar. Also you hear every noise...

Tucked just off the main eating square is this restaurant with rooms run by the welcoming and charming madame. Perfectly placed for walking the sights of Arles once you get here, finding it is tres difficile! But worth the effort. Rooms are large and stylish with little touches of luxury and very peaceful (I am fussy about noise) but this...

We stayed in one of the apartments, called Le Forum, associated with the restaurant and hotel, Le Barreme. The manager, Agnes, did not handle things competently at all. As agreed beforehand, I called her at the time she specified to get directions to the apartment and to check in but when I called her cell upon arrival in Arles, right...

I thought about writing this review for more than one week. I don't enjoy writing negative comments but after reading the (French) review from Aug 29 2010, I feel it is important to communicate my experience. I booked over the phone and it was clearly stated that confirmation via e-mail would follow. They took VISA information for the deposit. It...
