Fantastic experience : a night in a luxurious barge with a great breakfast and with a nice welcome from the owner's . If you want to impress your friends : just book the 2 rooms and start the experience of having champagne at the sunset.

Quirky and cute with the most wonderfully helpful host. The owner was so welcoming, helping us with dinner reservations and so kind in researching which petrol station had fuel during a strike. This included full directions and the gift of the contents of his petrol can to ensure we got there (& refused any money for it!) We stayed in...

Firstly, a fantastic breakfast included! The owner was very welcoming and helpful. The boat is lovely, in a peaceful location and is very well looked after. It is secluded, as some reviews have alluded to, and is probably not reasonable walking distance for most into Avignon (I would say 45 minutes is a conservative estimate), but if you are after...

We recently stayed on the barge ‘La Hasard’ in the so called Captain’s quarters. At €80 for B&B, this was our most expensive accommodation. As we are used to boats since we have been living on our boat for 1 year, it did not have the wow factor for us but I am sure that non boating people would think...

Stayed here for one night and very pleased we picked it. Unlike many of the reviewers, we didn't stay in the Captain's room, so I wanted to add a few words about the other one we did stay in. Plenty of room for our stay, but be aware that the bed is in a recess so can only be accessed...

This is a lovely and unusual place to stay. We really enjoyed staying on the boat just outside Avignon and the owners could not have been more helpful. The place is so atmospheric with a pool on the deck a lovely parrot called Victor and two historic bedrooms complete with original wood panelling. The breakfast was the best we had...

We loved staying on the boat! It was quaint, peaceful and relaxing. The food was outstanding. Breakfast was served on the deck with the morning sun shining down. I could never finish all the beautiful items served to me and always left satisfied. This is not a flashy upscale place; it's a wonderful sweet get away to drink a bottle...

The Peniche, built in 1928, provided an atmospheric and traditional setting for a tranquil stay. The air conditioning in main room coped well with a very hot spell of weather. A wheelhouse kitchen was a novel place to prepare the occasional evening meal and the breakfast served on deck each morning lived up to the reviews of previous guests. Spacious...

A belated review and thanks to Jean-Marie for our memorable 4-day stay in July. This unique B&B was an unexpected highlight of our month long holiday in France. Although we stayed in places that were more flash, this place will long be a vivid memory. Jean Marie's generous yet low key hospitality helped create a relaxed fun ambience. His incredible...

My partner booked one night here as a birthday treat for me. The location, accomodation, the homemade breakfast made by Jean-Marie was absolutely fantastic. It was all so unbelievably different and Jean -Marie is a superb host, The boat was spotlessly clean and very characteristic and well kept. Will recommend to others we know would be interested in something different....
