La Banasterie is a wonderful, atmospheric old house, nestling in a pretty street that runs inwards from Avignon's ancient town walls. In my view, the location was perfect – it is not on top of the busy, rather touristy Rue de la Republic area, but is still nearby, just a few minutes' walk, so you can reach all of the sights...

I didn't know 5 days could pass so agonizingly slowly! We stayed here in May of '15, and are only now able to write about it. We had been led to expect to be hosted by a charming couple; instead, we had their surly son. The moment he would catch sight of us , he'd immediately disappear from view The...

Charming, artsy, spacious, tucked away on tiny street in the old section. A wonderful sanctuary from the excitement of the city. There is a great sidewalk cafe just steps away. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. But being deep in the warren of narrow streets of the old city, don't even think of trying to drive there.

A calm and elegant oasis in the heart of Avignon near Le Palais des Papes and Le Pont d'Avignon . A perfect place to recharge after a hectic day of touring with many great restaurants nearby. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

La Banasterie is a historic guest house in a terrific location in Avignon. Our room had a balcony overlooking the little courtyard. You get complimentary chocolates in your room. The decor looks like it is out of a magazine, only better. The hosts, Tanguy and Caroline went above and beyond. They booked a nearby restaurant for us which served some...

La Banasterie is located within walking distance from the central train station and all of the main sights. My fiancé and I were greeted by Tanguy - the extremely friendly and helpful host - who gave us a tour of his charming property before showing us to our room. We stayed in Criollo which has its own terrace, ideal for...

My wife and I stayed at La Banasterie for a week last month to celebrate our anniversary. The room (Quetzcoatl) was more like a suite, with a two rooms and our own private balcony. The location could not have been better, probably a two minute walk to the Palais des Papes, and many good restaurants within a five minute walk....

Two things to be aware of: This is not a hotel - it's a bed and breakfast. If you want lifts, swimming pools and spacious corridors then go elsewhere. It has recently (last three months or so) changed hands and so some of the information in older reviews may be out of date. What it is is a delightful place...

This was a great start to our holiday. The location is excellent, it makes you feel part of the place and the quaint roads with the beautiful balconies and iron is a pleasure for photography. This is a 16th century house, excusitely refurbished in an ecclectic style, beautiful elegant colours, with comfort and cosiness in mind. Friendly Carolina met us...

The owner met us on our arrival, gave us a nice review of the area, a map and was very helpful throughout our stay. He made us several reservations and all his suggestions were right on. We stayed in the Trinatario room , one flight up, which provided a little extra room and had two windows providing a little more...
