Stopped here for two days in May14. Had one of the best rooms on the second floor overlooking the busy main road along the front and the sea beyond. The room was large and pleasantly decorated and there was a small balcony. The windows were double glazed that led to quiet undisturbed nights. The young lady on reception spoke good English...

We were offered the last room of this hotel over Easter and were grateful to find a room despite late booking. The hotel is well situated and not too expensive. In all good value ratio. As we booked the hotel owner told us that this last room was a room with a older type of toilet, not yet renovated to...

This was our fifth stay at the Vanille Hotel and it certainly won't be our last. Superbly situated facing the sea with a choice of sea view rooms or garden rooms at the back. Very reasonably priced with an excellent optional breakfast. Ideally situated for walks or taking either train or bus to everywhere worth visiting. Family owned and run,...

A small, efficiently managed, friendly, family-run hotel in a prime position on the promenade at Cros de Cagnes. The hotel is open all year and Mr Rosset and his staff are very charming and helpful and all speak some English, especially Mr Rosset. Pleasant terrace, lounge and dining room overlooking the promenade, where you can watch the comings and goings....

I booked 2 rooms here for my children. My son (27) arrived at night and the manager told him to be sure to "be quiet" at night time because the hotel was full. There was no air conditioning in the room, and it was very tiny tiny. The bedding had stains on it but was changed after the manager saw...

We give the Vanille top marks as this is most probably the best 2-star hotel on the coast. Now (2013) also with A/C in the rooms, - and mind you: the A/C is placed in the room so that you avoid having full winter-breeze directly in your face while sleeping :-) And their "continental" breakfast is rich; with salami, ham,...

We stayed here for a couple of nights. Although our room was slightly tired, the bed was comfortable and everything worked. The one hair dryer in the hotel was being used by an italian who took hours to hand it back which we found amusing but once we got hold of it for our 15 minute slot, it was the...

We stayed here for one night and were really pleased with our room. Good shower, comfortable bed, friendly staff and atmosphere. Breakfast had good choice. Right on sea front, with busy road, but no problem at this time of year. Free parking at the back of hotel. Excellent restaurant 2 minutes away. Highly recommended.

My wife and I spent 10 days at the Vanille. It's a clean, small and friendly hotel across the street from the Sea. The Hilton...No! Better than the Hilton...Yes! It's a family run hotel in an excellent location. You are treated as a valued client. The sea view rooms are quaint, smaller rooms with beautiful balcony views of the Mediterranean....

What we said last year still applies. Cagnes-sur-Mer is such a friendly little place and this hotel and its staff epitomise the town. It is not the smartest of hotels - it needs a lick of paint and new carpets - but for this sort of money where else can you get a room with a sea view on this...
