Hôtel L'Orangeraie in Menton garners compliments for its spotless premises, with guests consistently noting the immaculate condition of both rooms and gardens. The hotel's prime central location, a stone's throw from the sea and convenient transportation, is highly praised by many visitors.
However, the hotel's value proposition is at times called into question, with criticisms directed at the small and noisy rooms, coupled with service that receives mixed reviews, ranging from commendable to less than satisfactory. Despite this, the charm of the hotel's amenities and the stunning views offered by some rooms are recognized by guests.

Eager to change location for the end of the year, we took advantage of a stay at RCM to visit this beautiful hotel located in Menton...well located. Although a little far from the beaches...5 to 600 meters to access the seaside...it benefits from a large park which isolates a little from the noise of the city center to which it is very close...the superior rooms park view with terrace seemed good to us although not huge. But OK. In Menton...everything is difficult and expensive...!! the clientele is on average very old....the youngest are already retired!! the staff, on the other hand, are young and charming... internal parking is subject to charge of course... the prices remain correct for the city... there are numerous restaurants outside. Without having tested the interior. Always delicate at Milléade and its buffets....In conclusion the place offers a possible alternative to the local 3 Pierre et Vacances...in the event of invasions of children...Monegasque or not..!!!

Pension ideally located, all Menton can be done on foot (if necessary, the reception specifies that a free shuttle exists and goes around the city). 5min walk to the beach.
Pension staff (reception, restaurant, bar, maids etc.) are very welcoming, polite and attentive. That's nice!
The restaurant side is top, the menu changes every day, as well as lunch and evening. Wide choice and very good.
The rooms are clean, nice view, the only negative would be noise. The insulation is not great: you can hear the sounds of doors slamming, people in the corridors, water flowing and the vacuum cleaner in the corridor at 8:30... too bad. But overall the rooms are great!
I recommend this Pension for a couple, family or solo.

The hotel is quite well located in relation to the sea and public transport. The infrastructure and layout are correct. The service is efficient. At the restaurant, the buffet is OK but could be more varied. The establishment is clean, wifi available even in our room on the second floor, two elevators allow access to all people. The covered parking spaces are limited for an SUV and access requires maneuvering. Some difficulties with access badges but quickly resolved by the people at reception. In summary, a good stay, I recommend the establishment because it is good value for money. Sincerely.

I never leave reviews but this hotel really deserves it! Once we arrive at the hotel we immediately find the car park, easily accessible and spacious with an external car park and an underground one (the one outside is not monitored, the underground one I don't know but in any case there were no problems). The hotel is beautiful, the location is perfect just a few minutes walk from the sea and the center of Menton. The area is beautiful and well frequented. The structure is magnificent with a splendid, quiet and well-kept garden with very pleasant outdoor tables. Inside everything is clean and well-kept, everyone at the reception is really very helpful (they speak English, French and Italian), friendly and ready to help with anything. The room is like in the photos (except for the shower which has a curtain and not glass but it was still very comfortable, clean and hygienic). Our room also had a nice balcony, a plus that we were very pleased with. The only flaw was perhaps the breakfast which was a bit poor and not very good, but still a 6/10. Room cleaning service on request (classic tag on the handle), with change of towels and bed making (at no additional cost). Truly a beautiful place, fantastic staff and unforgettable stays.

The only positive point about this property is its location... First night in room 111: a disastrous experience. The room is right in front of the restaurant, which gives the impression of being permanently immersed in it. The incessant noise of cutlery and the hubbub of buffet guests are unbearable. Awakened at 5am by the establishment of breakfast, then forced to suffer the noise of customers from 7am to 10am... The comfort of the room is to be reviewed especially because of a deplorable soundproofing.
If you are looking for a place to rest, escape this property.
The staff is unpleasant and insensitive, running away from the discussion when we tried to express our dissatisfaction with the room.
Parking is paid and has no availability.
The last night we finally had a quiet room, but at 9am the maids knocked to do the cleaning when we hadn’t even left.
Nice communication between departments!
Dirty dishes had been lying in the hallway for several days.
The services are really poor: no courtesy tray or bottle of water, a small bathroom in need of renovation.
The bare minimum for a room supposed to be 3 stars...

Hotel ideally located 5 minutes walk from the seaside and 400m from the SNCF station from where you can reach the center of Monte Carlo by train in 10 minutes and for only €6 return. Very clean hotel with a beautiful wooded garden. Ground floor room with terrace and covered parking for €9 per day. Good breakfast with sweet, salty and fresh fruit. Only downside, room a little too small but for 1 night no problem. Very good value for money.

Large Art Nouveau style hotel adjacent to the railway, on the second line from the beach with large spaces, garden and cheap parking at the back available to customers. The room was nice and comfortable with even a small terrace but absolutely not soundproofed. Well assorted continental breakfast. Excellent value for money.

Pension L’Orangeraie is a real gem nestled in the heart of Menton, just 400 metres from the beach. The staff, from the front desk to the dining room, bar and cleaning team, were exceptional. Always caring, kind and smiling, they made our stay memorable. The restaurant has charmed us with its delicious dishes and elegant atmosphere. Special mention for their attention to Louise, our 6 year old. She felt pampered at every meal! In terms of location, the Inn is ideally located. Just 5 minutes walk from the beach and the old town, we were able to stroll through the picturesque alleys, visit the Basilica of Saint Michael and the cemetery of the Old Castle (where Webb Ellis inventor of rugby is buried), discover the local shops, including the Maison Herbin, jam maker, and his workshop. Do not hesitate to extend the walk (25min walk from the Inn ) to discover the beautiful botanical garden of Val Rahmeh. Moreover, the train station is less than 10 minutes walk, which allowed us to easily reach Monaco and Ventimiglia in 10 to 15 minutes by TER. In short, a perfect stay in an enchanting setting! 🌴🌞
Some info in +
The Pension offers on-site parking. To reserve your place before your stay, just call the reception a few weeks before. We stayed in rooms 220 and 218, which had a nice view of the park. It would seem that from the 4th floor you can also enjoy a sea view.)

Room, no. 425, inappropriate for people over 60 years old: cramped , bed added to make a double bed,no way to circulate ,sdb ,toilet, cramped:broken shower screens, obsolete. In short, this room is made for a person passing possibly and not for a couple who wish to stay a week off,not to mention the hellish noise of the elevator going up and down day and night.

Very good establishment, perfect room and service. Evening meal (half board) buffet starters desserts very varied and copious. Very pleasant setting. Very close to the historic center of Menton and the seaside. Interesting evening entertainment, recitals etc.

Bonjour, je suppose que vous demandez si l'on peut prendre son petit déjeuner en chambre ??? absolument impossible, c'était déjà très difficile de le prendre sur la terrasse, car éloignée de la salle des petits déjeuners. Bonne journée.
