Many guests are charmed by the Hotel Richelieu's unique, retro atmosphere and its tranquil setting, often highlighting the comfortable bedding. The service at the hotel is frequently commended, with the staff described as welcoming and the breakfast server notably helpful.
Although the rooms receive mixed reviews, from airy and spotless to some maintenance complaints, the general cleanliness of the hotel is praised. While the amenities and breakfast options could be improved, the hotel's central location near the sea and local attractions is highly valued by guests.

The Richelieu hotel is a comfortable hotel, which has remained in its original style with decor and furnishings that may seem out of date (1970?) but which has its charm (e.g. purple tiles in the bathroom). Comfortable bedding but the pillows (like everywhere) are a little too soft. There might be a lack of shelves in the bathroom to put toiletry bags on because the sink shelf is a bit tight. The plastic stool is not enough.
The insulation of the windows is at the top but that of the walls a little less: you can hear the neighbor coughing, blowing his nose...
The breakfast room is a bit small if all residents decide to eat at the same time. The breakfast is good (1 croissant per person, a slice of bread, 1 butter and a jam) but there might be a lack of a small buffet for those who want to wander around longer in the morning and do without lunch.
The welcome was very good, the manager told us about the curiosities to visit in Menton as well as a little local history. great.
Another positive point: the location of the hotel less than 100 m from the beach, close to the pedestrian center, paid but guarded parking just behind.
There is an elevator but you have to climb 5 or 6 steps to get there, which is still important for PAMRs.

Old hotel but the rooms are comfortable and very well maintained.
Quiet, no noise in the evening or in the morning.
Friendly staff.
Excellent geographical location, close to the sea, shops and restaurants and 10 minutes walk from the train station.
Small downside, the breakfast taken in a very pretty setting would benefit from being enriched with fruit and yogurt.

Good location in the city center and a stone's throw from the sea. Clean rooms, attentive customer service. Friendly staff. Although the structure is dated, the stay is comfortable especially as the location allows you to easily reach the services.

The entire structure is very old and needs to be renovated as well as the room. The bathroom is not in good condition and is quite uncomfortable.
I was assigned a room on the reception floor so unfortunately it was very noisy, until midnight you could hear people talking in the corridor (perhaps one of these was actually the owner) and early in the morning you could hear people in the breakfast room and a person who continued to speak which seemed the same as the previous night.
The cost of breakfast is absolutely excessive compared to what is offered.

To flee!! The hotel is not worth 2 stars at all. There are no customer services at all. I booked 2 rooms for 1 night at the Hotel Richelieu. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a gentleman at the reception who received us well. We went to our room and went to discover the city. We came home late (midnight) and realized that in one of the rooms the sink was clogged. So we brushed our teeth in the shower. ⚠️⚠️Please note that the reception at this hotel is only open from 3pm to 9pm. So if a glitch happens to you outside these hours you have 0 customer services. Which was the case for us. Tomorrow morning, it was a cleaning lady, Cinzia, who was at the reception and who was very unpleasant. She didn’t seem to mind that our sink was clogged and we had to brush our teeth in the shower. Cinzia told us that she was going to send a cleaning lady to open the sink. We met the person who was supposed to assist us and he had no respect for the customers. She rubbed shoulders with us and said, “Did you see me? I’m not going to do it.” Basically, it was “manage!” I called Cinzia at the reception who was not at all professional and really seems NOT TO CARE because she hung up on me twice telling me that the dining room is “full” (there were 2 people). I was very SHOCKED how guests are treated at this hotel.
On top of that, the rooms are poorly insulated so you can hear the world next door.
Really run! It's not worth it. There really is another hotel with better customer service.

Last year we were very happy and so we decided to return despite the price had increased by 30%. The room was dilapidated and dirty, we had to clean the layer of dust that covered the shelves of the closet before storing the clothes, an abajour did not work and in an attempt to screw the bulb came off, an electrical outlet came off, on the evening of the second day we went back to the room: they had barely pulled up the covers of the beds and had not replaced neither towels nor shower mat!! The only positive note was the kindness of the Ligurian lady who serves breakfasts. We are very disappointed .. for several years we spend a couple of days in Menton in July and we thought we had finally found a modest but decent hotel instead we will have to look again .. shame !

Hotel situated in the centre of Menton close to most. Basic rooms with A/C.
Parking can be done in a nearby paid parking (14 EUR per day).
Reception is located on the 1st floor in a very small office and out to a narrow hallway. Right next to the reception you will find the common “living” room.
Because of this rooms on the 1st floor - and especially right next to the reception - are disturbed by the traffic to and from the reception as well as related conversations.

The hotel is quiet and well located in the city center of Menton near the sea. Parking nearby is chargeable (free from 7 p.m. to 9 a.m.). Old establishment but very clean, the bedding is correct. An elevator is available, which is very practical for luggage.

The hotel was quite acceptable, with service and comfort in line with the price displayed at the time of booking, but not beyond. On the other hand, we were surprised to discover that the rate was increasing every day:
Day 1: 86 euros
Day 2: 90 euros
Day 3: 136 euros
Day 4: 165 euros.
I would like to point out that we were not informed of this price change at the time of booking.
In many places different rates are applied depending on the high and low season, however, increase during the stay without informing the guest beforehand ...

A very friendly welcome in a beautiful hotel with a nice old style.
The rooms were clean and spacious and the bed was lovely. The hotel is centrally located within walking distance of the city centre and on the route from station to city centre. The rooms were quiet, not bothered by traffic or the like.
