I subscribe to everything that has been written about the excellent qualities of this hotel…
The hotel owners take great care of it and are attentive to any comments from their guests. Which means that this hotel is very clean and gives complete satisfaction for what one expects from a stay at the hotel. We stayed there twice, in 2022 and 7 days this year 2023 in October.
The rooms overlook two of the hotel’s facades; one of the facades has a side view of the sea and the mountains.
Its location in the city is different from that where there are more offers in terms of hotels. Concerning us, this part of the city, facing the sea with a view of the Italian coast on one side, and a postcard view of the old upper town and the magnificent cemetery of the old castle, on the other, is a such delight that we are attracted to this hotel which offers all of this in addition to being right next to the city center.
Being able to park on the street, in complete safety, is a plus. This is outside the summer period (I presume). Otherwise there is parking in the hotel and a large car park in the immediate vicinity.

We have just spent two fabulous nights at the Hotel Palm Garavan. The Hotel is opposite the sea and in a very picturesque location. The rooms were modern and clean and the owners were so helpful. It is ideally placed for restaurants and bars and is about a 15/20 minute to the train station which we used to take the 35 mins journey to Nice for the day.

Parking is available for a small fee but it is worth it to know the car is safe underground. Breakfast is an optional extra but as we didn’t have breakfast I can’t comment but I don’t doubt it would have been delicious.

I thoroughly recommend the Hotel to anyone visiting Menton and also it is only about a 10 mins drive from the Hotel to Italy so we took advantage of being so close and took a little trip over for a couple of hours.

We hope to return again one day for sure.

We enjoyed staying at this hotel, where the owners were very helpful in suggesting where we could park close by at no expense (right up the road...so close) and their favorite restaurant, 3 minutes walk away, that was great. And Old Town is a quick 5 minute walk away and so nice to roam around.

The room was certainly nice with all that we needed and a nice view of the water. There was not as much road noise from traffic as I expected so that was a nice surprise.

I would recommend staying here!

I really wanted to love this hotel based on the reviews but we were left a little disappointed.

The Good:

We picked the hotel because we had a car and there was a parking option for the hotel. It was reasonable and safe which was great.

The room was clean and average sized compared to European hotels. We got a discount rate so we didn’t have a balcony and our room looked at the back of the next building. Not complaining, it’s just what you get for budget.

For breakfast there were 3 options which was nice as we tend to like something small and hate paying for food we won’t eat. We got coffee and a croissant for €3,50.

The location is less than a 10 minute walk from old town and right across from the beach which is great.

The not so good:
The Wi-Fi. We were dependent on Wi-Fi for our trip and it kept dropping the entire evening. It was so bad that we ended up having to pay for one of our cell phones for a day so we could use it as a hot spot.

The nightstands in room 505 were little glass shelves but one side of the bed didn’t have one so everything had to be set on the floor.

The bathroom door is a pocket door but it’s more for the illusion of privacy than anything. Even when closed you can still hear someone going to the bathroom and from the bathroom, you can still see out.

The ac didn’t really cool the room much. I think the lowest it would go was 24° but even then it still didn’t feel that cool.

I travel a lot and I am coming off a 3 week stint in Europe so I stayed in a lot of places this trip and this was my least favorite hotel. We tend to give smaller places a chance and while it was clean and cheap, I think going elsewhere would have worked better for us.

We stayed a week here in a room with a balcony and side view of the sea. The room was clean and basically furnished, with comfortable beds.
There is a lift and someone on duty in reception all night. You can have breakfast at various charges: we tried the simplest which was OK, but ended up just having some fruit in our room, which you can buy in the market in Menton or at the supermarket which is a few minutes from the hotel (turn left). There is no kettle so we brought our own and managed with long life milk. It's a pity that tea and coffee in the room is not available - it would make all the difference, plus a small fridge.
The owners and the young guys on duty in the evening were very friendly and helpful. They make you a cup of coffee when you come in after dinner, which you have in the little breakfast area. The hotel is on the main road but we weren't bothered by noise. It was useful to have the bus stop nearby. The public beach opposite is fine, no need to pay for the private ones. Menton is a very interesting, vibrant place - we'd recommend a visit.

Pension quiet and spotlessly clean, two minutes walk from a beach and five minutes from the main street of the city.
Welcome both professional and courteous from Catherine and Olivier.
About twenty rooms, some of which have a balcony perpendicular to the beach, which allows to have a view of the sea and the mountain.
Spacious rooms with silent air conditioning. Very comfortable bedding.
Pension located 1km walk from Menton-Garavan station.

The hotel is located on the seafront, a short distance from the port and the Ferris wheel. Good service and room more than decent. Breakfast offers a decent choice and the possibility to choose daily between three options: small, medium and full. The quality / price ratio is also satisfactory.

Quiet, very pleasant and remarkably clean hotel with a beautiful side sea and mountain view. The bedding is very comfortable. The hoteliers are as welcoming as they are kind and always provide good advice for discovering the area. Loyal customers for 4 years, we always come back with great pleasure and we feel at home there.

the hotel itself is good, spacious room opening onto a terrace shared with other rooms.
the shower, we couldn't have any water coming out of the shower, like almost all women, I don't like having water on my head. I report it, the boss's response (I will report it to the plumber, you were still able to take a shower) then I tell him that the bedside lights were not working. response from the boss (well the plug must have been unplugged, haven't you looked under the bed? It happens when you vacuum) of course it's up to me to get on all fours to check.
one: (sorry for this inconvenience, that would have been enough for me) but not even that, for a 3 star I find that an average response. In short, a shame
Average breakfast, served on the plate, no buffet.
positive point garage

Great Hotel in Menton!
Unique kindness of Olivier, his wife and all the staff.
They made our weekend in Menton truly unforgettable.
They pampered us throughout with sympathy and professionalism.
Also, the location is really strategic. Attached to the sea, with the possibility of indoor parking, it is also very close to the historic center of Menton.
In short, absolutely recommended!
See you soon!
