So- I would give this hotel 4.8 stars. We have stayed in the area a few times and this is by far the best hotel. Service in southern France is just a bit different. Slower, laid back and a bit worn around the edges. We had a sea view junior suite. Room 520. The view is simply spectacular. The room itself is a bit worn. The bed a bit old. The bathroom a bit outdated and small. That being said- we very much enjoyed our stay. Service in the restaurant was so slow that we ordered room service for breakfast instead. It was fast and crisp. The bar is a highlight. Unfortunately for some reason they used the winter bar while we were there so we couldn’t enjoy a cocktail in their terrace. The winter bar is great- service here was top notch. Check in and check out was smooth. The concierge was fantastic. They arranged our Covid tests, transfers and a few other issues. They responded rapidly via email which was very reassuring. In the end this is the place to stay!…
I'm shocked to see all of these fantastic reviews for Le Negresco. Based on the pictures we looked at online and the price we paid to stay at Le Negresco, We felt completely scammed. The positives are that the hotel is nicely situated across the street from the beach and elegantly decorated. I will also note that the staff members were unbelievably nice and helpful during our stay, however, our hotel room was abysmal. It felt like we were staying a motel. The carpet was so old and dirty I didn't even want to walk on it or put anything on the floor. The inside of the closet also looked several decades old and dirty. On top of those things are room was infested with ants. We found several ants near the baseboard and even some in our bed. It was simply not a comfortable stay and I couldn't wait to check out. I promise I am not a hotel snob but if I am paying a rate for a higher end hotel, at a minimum I expect it to feel clean.…
Words can’t describe how perfect our stay was. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a suite with a terrace and it was beautiful with amazing views. The staff were fantastic throughout our stay and we used the concierge for multiple restaurant recommendations all of which were fantastic. We had breakfast included and it was delicious and in a lovely setting. The hotel in itself is an icon and it is as magical inside as it is from outside, the art on display is beautiful. I honestly couldn’t think of one negative to say, our stay was perfect and once in a lifetime and I hope we can return soon.
The hotel was fabulously decorated with fine art and each floor had a motif. We stayed on the Napoleon floor, and toured the rest like a living museum. The grand foyer with the celestial chandelier made us feel like we were in the last century with all its elegance. The drinks at the bar were exceptional too. Especially with the backdrop of a real portrait of King Louis and a grand hearth.
A beautiful hotel Such an outstanding mansion like a museum Takes you back centuries!! Every floor and every room has a different theme! From all over the world places! Spacious rooms and very cleaned! But for such a historical big beauty … not a spa?? This is a very negative about it
