The hotel boasts an excellent location, with a scenic beachfront promenade view. It's conveniently situated just a few minutes' walk from Place Massena, the old town, and vibrant markets. The Opera tram stop nearby provides easy airport access with a simple change at Jean Medecin, and Uber rides are reasonably priced at around 20 euros. While the hotel's central location is a plus, it's important to note that accessibility might be an issue for some. The hotel, being small, only has stair access to its one upper floor and also requires navigating stairs to enter the ground level. The hotel's lobby is functional, doubling as a small seating and bar area. The reception, staffed 24 hours, also manages the bar. This setup, while efficient, might not offer the extensive amenities seen in larger hotels. The room I stayed in was small yet functional, featuring a large, comfortable bed, but with limited space around it. Facilities included a desk with tea/coffee amenities, a built-in wardrobe, and a small wall-mounted TV. However, the room's side view of the Opera house often necessitated closed curtains. On a positive note, the hotel provides reliable WiFi with speeds of 40 Mbps. The bathroom is equipped with a walk-in shower, a wall-mounted hairdryer, and basic toiletries. It's functional but creates a wet room due to the absence of an effective water barrier. The room's condition was noticeably dated. Attention is required to address issues like a worn-out wardrobe, loose plug sockets, stained carpets, and the inefficient bathroom layout. Unfortunately, the customer service was subpar, characterised by misinformation, inattentiveness, and occasional unapproachability. This aspect of the hotel significantly detracted from the overall experience. As an advocate of the Accor brand and loyalty member, I had high expectations for this Mercure hotel. However, this experience fell short of the typical standards expected from a 4-star establishment. While 1 of the 4 rooms with a balcony and seafront views might offer a more unique experience, I find it challenging to recommend this hotel without significant improvements. …
