A small wonder, fabulous location, close to the city, from the hotel you can reach the main attractions on foot, the center is very close.
The room is spotless and very comfortable, with a beautiful terrace where you can sunbathe, eat breakfast in your room with a wonderful view of the sea and the whole city, with a totsle privacy.
The quality of sleep is perfect because no noise is heard, all the staff is very kind, helpful and attentive to every customer need, make you feel at ease as if you were at home.
Breakfast offers a wide choice and is of high quality.
We had a great time and thank you all for the wonderful hospitality.
We will definitely return
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

This elegant hotel is certainly in a prime location on the Nice seafront and it's quite an experience to come out of a lift and be confronted with a window with a stunning view along the entire beach and promenade. I mention the lift as there are quite a few of them necessary to get around, or should I say, up and down a hotel which has been built into a cliff side. Part of the charm of the establishment is losing yourself in the warren of corridors, staircases and lifts. However, that charm is fading a little and you are always dodging past a decorator or an engineer fixing something. The staff are all extremely polite and friendly, be it the restaurant team, porters or cleaners. But a special mention must go to the reception staff who are top notch being helpful, informative and always prepared to go the extra mile for the residents. And they have to be on their game all the time because the small size of the front lobby means they are forever greeting residents as they come and go. The rooms are clean and well maintained, although some of the non-sea view rooms can be gloomy. Patios and balconies come in all shapes and sizes. The beds are very comfortable as are the pillows. There is good storage space and a safe. The bath is a good size, but the shower systems could do with an upgrade. The WiFi is fine in the lower levels but becomes a little erratic higher up the building. The pool and restaurant patio are on the same level down a number of stairs. There is no hotel bar as such (and given the hotel being so close to Nice Old Town that probably makes sense). The breakfast is very good with a continental choice plus you order a choice of egg dish you want which is brought to your table. The evening meal is fine dining and not cheap. The location really is perfect, as you can exit the hotel and turn left and walk down to the port and marina, or turn right and walk along the promenade and into the Old Town. Or pop around to the public lift (another one) and go up through the cliff to the Castle Gardens and viewing points - and get the land train back down to the promenade. Or if you are lucky to have a sunny patio, then just stay put and chill out in the hotel.

I have stayed at La Perouse many times over the years and I am always enchanted by the location which offers the best view of the Mediterranean. The hotel is charming, the rooms are well-appointed and many have a terrace and/or a view of the sea; the staff is generally warm and helpful and the food at The Patio is delicious, if a bit pricey. I would never stay anywhere else.

The hotel is perfectly located across the beach and close to the town. The Junior Suite with a sea-view was a great view and was spacious. We were disappointed in the services. The room phone was not working our entire stay, which makes it difficult to call reception or room service. This was not fixed during our stay, which we would have expected. Our TV was not working and I had to go downstairs to get someone to attend to this and to help with the air-conditioning (because the phone was not working). The cleaning of the room was not done properly, the floor was not swept at all during our stay. The cleaning staff would also leave their cleaning tools outside of our door all day. The hotel tried to accommodate requests but I think the basic and foundational elements need to be addressed for a hotel of this price.

We stayed in La Perouse last week for 5 nights. We opted for a what was described as a garden room. The room we were given when we checked in was in a corner, between two other rooms so overnight the noise from both the rooms was very intrusive. People talking, children crying and we could hear everything that was happening in their bathrooms. We could also clearly hear people walking past our room to get to the restaurant. The room did not overlook a garden but the glass roof of the restaurant. . The shower head in our bathroom was partly blocked and so the next morning we asked to move rooms.

The room we were given was on a higher floor and larger but very dark and gloomy. There was a table with chairs outside but it was only when we went out to have a look round did we realise that there was a deep well to our left with some kind of extraction fan at the bottom. The noise made it impossible to sit out and it was very unattractive. . Also, no garden view, we looked out over another room and a walkway which led up to the roof so there were people walking by quite regularly and fully able to look into our room ( which had large windows) unless we drew the curtains. Even more gloom. The shower head in this room was also partly blocked, water only came out of a side and was extremely hot.. Every day I reported it but nothing was done. We stayed with the second room as it was clear when we changed from the first that it was not something the hotel was particularly happy doing. I don’t think they felt there was really anything wrong with the original room.

The restaurant is attractive and the breakfasts good. We ate there the first night , a good meal. The staff were mostly very pleasant.

We travel regularly and can’t remember a time when we had such unsatisfactory rooms. The hotel seems happy to allocate these inferior rooms to guests who didn’t book a sea view. To describe them as having a garden view is inaccurate.

We plan to come back to Nice next spring as part of a tour of the coast but we will definitely not be staying at La Perouse.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are truly sorry to hear that your recent stay with us did not meet your expectations. As the Hotel is properly nestled on to Castle Hill, all the non-sea view rooms are called “garden view” because they are all bordered with Mediterranean trees and vegetation. While these rooms are part of the unique charm of our hotel’s setting, we regret that they did not meet your preferences. We are also sincerely sorry for the noise disturbances, and the issue with the water. Please rest assured that we have shared your concerns with our technical team and are taking steps to address and prevent similar occurrences in the future. On a positive note, we’re glad to hear that you enjoyed dining at our restaurant, Le Patio, and appreciated the quality of the breakfast and the service provided by our team during your dinner. We deeply regret that your stay fell short of your expectations and that it has left you with a lasting impression of disappointment. It is always our aim to ensure every guest has a memorable and pleasant experience. Should you decide to give us another chance in the future, we would be delighted to welcome you back. The hotel has a perfect location...the beautiful old town as well as the famous promenade are right around the corner or right outside the door...We had a room with sea view, sensational. Very good toiletries from Fragonard in the bathroom and also the breakfast is very delicious, if the temperatures leave it, you can have breakfast under the lemon trees in the courtyard, wonderful. ...even gluten intolerance was very well addressed. The staff was very friendly, ...we can absolutely recommend the place and will gladly come back, merci et a bientot

La Perouse is our favourite hotel. We enjoyed marvellous views from our room, excellent meals in the Patio restaurant and relaxing bathing in the pool. Situated on the sea front and within close proximity to Old Nice and the castle area, the hotel offers many enjoyable walks. Above all however all the staff made significant contributions to a very enjoyable stay. The receptionists were always very friendly and informative, the lady who cleaned our room was very obliging and the patio restaurant staff were outstanding. It was great to see Fabien again and note that when we came last year it was Julien's first day. It was good to renew acquaintances and admire the excellent work of all members of the team, including Jeanne who served us on many occasions. Many thanks to all at la Perouse for providing us with a lovely holiday

Top! We have been coming to this hotel for a few days in August for almost 10 years and are still thrilled about the excellent service and food at the Patio. Very good location for the old town.
Excellent views from our balcony and also from the 'solarium' on the roof.
Enjoyed breakfasts very much - good location with seating inside or out, weather permitting. Excellent menu, but disappointed that omelettes weren't included in the standard breakfast rate - a plain one would have been no more effort to make than scrambled eggs, but cost an extra 8 €.
Room was comfortable, with a good-sized balcony in our case and an attractive bathroom, but the shower over the bath was pretty basic by today's standards.
Lifts didn't give a good first impression, being cramped, tired-looking and rather slow and we used the stairs where possible, but unfortunately, there was no avoiding the lifts between reception and the first floor.
Service overall was good, with helpful staff. However, room service was variable and consumables, e.g. loo paper were not always topped up.
Checking out took longer than expected with just one person on the desk and people waiting to be served, but we were pleased with the fixed-price private taxi they arranged for us to the airport.
Overall, glad we stayed and would recommend the hotel.

We are presently enjoying a three night stay at this hotel, which has been on my bucket list for a number of years. The renovation is tasteful and in keeping with the Riviera vibe.
As others have mentioned the layout is a bit quirky and gets a little getting used to, and is certainly a challenge for those with mobility issues. There is quite a difference in the rooms also, even within the same category. The pictures on the web don’t provide enough detail in my opinion. ASK QUESTIONS when booking. I asked quite a few and was always met with polite and detailed replies, so upon arrival there were no surprises and we were more than pleased with our room. I would not categorize them as large, we have stayed previously a few times at Le Meridien and the rooms there are larger, but more modern in decor. The bathrooms were a good size, but I am not sure if they were also included in the renovation as it is hard to imagine baths not being equipped with walk in showers in this day and age. That would be my only quibble. The staff is attentive and always willing to help. The breakfast is very good and plentiful. We enjoyed dinner in the restaurant one evening, it was an excellent meal, and we are foodies from NY who know good food. Like Paris, it is possible to have a bad meal in Nice, but the restaurant here is very good, and the outdoor setting romantic- though it can be a little buggy.
This hotel more than met our expectations and I would not hesitate to recommend or stay again.

Dear guest, We would like to thank you for writing about your experience in our hotel. It's wonderful to hear that you've finally crossed it off your bucket list. We are really happy to know that you had a wonderful stay with us and that you liked the new Riviera Chic decor. Our Maison niçoise is tucked into the hillside, creating a charming place with unique rooms upon the Mediterranean Sea. But as you said, it implies a rather special access, on different floors, adding a little magical touch at your stay ;) As all our rooms are different, it's good advice to ask questions when booking, as you did, to ensure you're getting the perfect room for you. It's great to hear that the staff was accommodating and provided detailed responses to your questions, contributing to a smooth and pleasant arrival. We are delighted to know that you enjoyed your experience at Le Patio, Restaurant & Terrace. This place is very special, and we're so glad you liked its Mediterranean charm. We hope to see you again very soon in our hidden treasure ! Best regards.
