Do yourself a favour, if you are anywhere remotely nearby, stay at Le Mas Julien. One regret-not staying long enough. Valere was utterly charming. Stayed in two rooms as booked VERY late and absolutely fell in love with the first room, though the bed in the second room made it difficult to get out of in the morning, SO comfortable....

We stayed in the Suite Julien for 6 nights. although only minutes from highway A7, Mas Julien is situated in a very quiet area in the middle of Chateauneuf-du-Pape vineyards. The airconditioned room was nicely decorated, the bathroom was huge but cosy, the kitchen was small but convenient and contained a fridge, electric cooker and a microwave. A safe was...

This homestay is in a quiet spot just outside Orange. Our room was large and comfortable, with a separate kitchenette and bathroom, as well as a patio. Valere was a wonderful host who served a delicious breakfast and was happy to spend time recommending local attractions, restaurants and day trips. A little more attention to the garden and the kitchenette's...

Landlord: very welcoming person; genuinely nice! he even offered the "suite" at the same price of a room since he did not have any reservation for that one. Location: in the middle of the wineyards nicely located 5 min. away from the highway you find le Mas Julien. Structure: renovated old "mas" with 3 rooms and a "suite" (this means...

The mas was nicely located, had a nice pool and a good breakfast. There was also a private parking.I thought it was overpriced though, certainly compared to other bed and breakfasts we visited in the region. We stayed in the room "chambre de valere" and actually I found it a dangerous room... A very narrow and dangerous staircase to get...

Dear Madame, Thank you very much for your positive comment; I warmly recommend the client to read the detailed room descriptions in order to choose the best room matching your expectations. I would advise pregnant women to select the room on the ground floor. the strairs of my old house can be hard . We propose decreasing rate ( if...

August 2010 will see our fifth visit to this beautiful harbour of peace. From the very moment you arrive you are made more than welcome and your host, Valere, is a true professional but at the same time, very friendly and approachable. He is a mine of information on the area which he is more than happy to share with...

great weekend experience to be repeated, simple but very elegant. The service is very refined. You immediately grasps that Valere is a professional of hospitality. The breakfast is very accurate. The rooms are spacious and well designed, full of details and references are not ordinary. The garden and pool are very comfortable and scenic. We will return whenever possible. But...

We stopped off for one night en route between the Costa Brava and a further overnight stop near Troyes before returning to the UK. There was a misunderstanding over our date of arrival, which meant that we couldn't enjoy an evening meal (which had been the main reason for booking). Valere was mortified and made up by arranging for us...

We went to Chateauneuf for tasting wines, and ended up booking two nights at Mas Julien. Valére, the owner/host (who, btw, speaks really good english), helped us decide on which domaines to visit, gave tips on the best restaurants, and was all around friendly, helpful and pleasant. After full days of wine tastings we would lounge by the refreshing pool,...

Had a most wonderful 4-day stay at this great little place. We found what we had been looking for: peace and calm in the country, yet close enough to towns like Orange and Avignon. Charming house, charming and very helpful host, Valère. We can highly recommend this rural jewel, also for longer stays in the Provence.
