Old fashioned discreet boarding house type bed and breakfast in middle of town, five minutes from station and bus stop to airport. Beds a bit hard and wiring poor so it was quite dark in the rooms but at the price that 'twas no big deal

Access to Edelweiss is via a steep and winding staircase behind a nondescript door on the Rue Lafayette - no elevator - at the top of which we were greeted by beautiful Veronique who effusively welcomed us into the entry hall, and showed us to our commodious twin bed room that overlooked the street, and had its own minuscule wrought... We received an excellent welcome from Veronique after a long train journey from Paris. This is a perfect location for people arriving by train - close to the station but within easy walking distance of the centre of town. We had a lovely characterful and spacious room (68), with its own access. Just make sure you are shown the door... More

My partner and I spent two glorious nights at La Pension Edelweiss. The Pension has unique charm and warmth, which was matched by Marseille-born owner, Veronique, who patiently answered questions and dispensed invaluable advice about what to do and where to go. Our bedroom boasted high ceilings, period furniture and oodles of character. The enormous kitchen and sitting room were... More

We stayed at the Edelweiss for a week, our first visit to Marseille. A great choice because it is so close to the train station. Located on the 2nd and 3rd floors of an older building, it may not be so convenient for people with mobility concerns. The room was large and comfortable, two windows overlooking the street. The owner's... More

We got stuck in traffic on the way there (accident, 3 hour delay) making us arrive well after last checkin time. They waited for us! Room itself was very nice in a very old building. Felt very French! Can't say I loved Marseille, but if I were ever to go back this would be a great place to stay.

We stayed one night at Pension Edelweiss and it was ideal. The room was stylish and cosy with a balcony overlooking a typical Marseille street. In a bustling city, this guest house felt very safe and is a 5minute walk from the station and a 15minute walk to the main harbour. Breakfast was a unique experience, sitting round a table... More

We spent two nights here exploring Marseille before moving on to holiday in the countryside. Its location five minutes walk from the station is perfect and it's really central for getting to know the old city. It really is a totally unique and fun place to stay, packed full of retro memorabilia - like living in a time warp -... More

Fascintating & quirky B & B. We stayed in June (for a second time) with family, and Bernadette accommodated us all on the ground floor, which worked really well. The breakfast is fabulous. Bernadette is very informative and we loved her recommendation for lunch in the local Kurdish restaurant. There is a good underground carpark very close by and the... More
