Spend only one Friday night. Very nice place, super close to the port. They serve a nice breakfast, they have free wifi and free computers with Internet, the rooms and toilets were very clean. The space between beds was wide, and the beds were comfortable. Would go again and recommend it!

This is a clean hostel in a convenient part of Marseille, about 10-15 walk from Vieux-Port underground station. The rooms are spacious, beds comfortable and bathrooms clean. The basics are good and staff reasonably helpful, if a little unenthusiastic at times However, the WiFi is slow and, in a city that can be incredibly hot and humid, not having air...

Pretty basic hostel with great staff. The staff have been extremely helpful and polite, the rooms were clean, the kitchen has been great (it's clean your own dishes so obviously some people feel entitled and don't bother to carry their own weight) wifi in the main room.. Somewhat pricey but it is peak season. Would give this hostel a 3.8...

had a nice stay at vertigo. the internet/wifi is accessible in the bedroom, which is nice. the rooms are a bit stuffy, and the bunk i stayed in was SO SQUEAKY it squeaked when you would breathe. the steps are pretty steep up into our bed area of the loft, and it's pretty hot up there but it was nice....

Stayed here alone in a four bed dorm. Decent location, a little stroll required to get into vieux port and then into the metro. As others have said it has to be recommended to be in block A as there was far less life in block B with patchy wifi also. However it is a very attractive building and the...

I stayed for two nights in the hostel. The location is really good, right in the center, nearby restaurants, commerce, the museums, that was the best feature of the place. The place is in general clean, really good breakfast. The room's have the shared bathroom inside, which can be good, especially if you are with friends, but due the construction...

We've stayed at their suite for 4 days, which was spacious and very very clean. Staff helped us in english with public transportation tips, very kindly. Their lounge area is very nice, they have a bar and a terrace. The location is great, the view port area is beautiful by morning with its cafes and restaurants, sunset when the light...

I liked this hostel. Lovely spacious old building - probably a warehouse. Stylishly fitted out and pretty clean. No lift and quite a few stairs to my top-floor dorm, but I had a bed - not a bunk - and it was quiet and spacious once I was there and the showers and bathroom were good. Nice communal areas -...

I paid 16€/per night for staying with 5 ppl. The bed was comfortable and room clean so nothing bad about it. Only thing that was frustrating was that they confirmed my booking and checking in at 13 and still my bed wasn't available until 14. And also the check out is at 10 which is weird.

The hostel is well located, plenty of shops, bars and restaurants close by as well as a metro stop and the old port. St Charles railway station is walkable. The staff were excellent - without exception professional, helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Our room (#6) was comfortable and clean, the en-suite bathroom was clean, plenty of hot water, OK water pressure...

Voted the best hostel in France for 2011 by Hostelworld customers! As for Vertigo Centre that opened in 2007 , you can find the feeling of a second home here. We're located in the Old Port area, walking distance from beaches, bars, clubs, the central market and the famous Notre Dame church. We offer charming two-, three-, four-, five- and six-bed rooms. All of our dorms are very clean and equipped with comfy wooden bunk beds, private shower and toilet facilities. The five- and six-bed dorms are equipped with two private bathrooms. Every room in our hostel is carefully designed and decorated by local artists according to the unique character of each room. Our building was renovated from two typical buildings which makes for a modern cosy atmosphere, while at the same time it has the feel of a typical Marseillean house. We offer a ton of free amenities, such as breakfast, Wi-Fi, linen, a fully-equipped kitchen with free spices, city maps, personal travel info, use of our travel guidebooks, luggage storage, book swap and a valuables safe at reception - all for free! Our friendly, caring and multi-lingual staff are here 24hrs a day to answer all your questions. We'll try our best to make you have a memorable stay in our hostel and in Marseille. And of course there's no curfew, no lockout and no stupid rules! We'll make sure that you feel like you're home here.
