Be careful, people who give this hotel 4 or 5 stars are in my opinion paid to write false reviews. I really stayed there.
The hotel deserves a good refresh.
When you walk through the front door, you don't necessarily want to stay there. Small welcome.
Completely uninteresting breakfast area. Carpets and floors on the floors stained which is unacceptable.
.
I had to change rooms because of the walls. Tables, dishwasher complaints, floors were particularly dirty. I have stayed in many city cars and I can say that this one is the one I liked the least. I would also have liked to have been informed that it was also a social hotel so that I could make an informed choice. .Now let's talk about air conditioning in the rooms. Noise that prevents us from sleeping and what's more, there is no air conditioning in all the rooms so depending on where you sleep, you will probably be very hot. It's a bit annoying when it's very hot. I gave 3 stars just for the employees who go out of their way to make our stay as pleasant as possible. A big thank you to them.
+- Close to transport and many restaurants nearby

Citadines Castellane is a very good residence right in the center of Marseille.
It’s a 15 minutes walk from the Vieux Port, few minutes on foot from the metro and very close to several supermarkets.
The check in was smooth, and the reception has been extremely available and helpful in changing my reservation without penalties even though it was just the day before.
The room was a bit small but clean and modern. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen well equipped with even a very small dishwasher included.

Very nice home. Clean and quiet place with very friendly and serious staff. Full breakfast. The place is also well accessible, close by metro to the city center and on foot from the exhibition center or the velodrome. Perfect stay!

Alright. Only two rooms with walk-in shower. Good quality welcome and service. Security at the entrance. The faulty microwave was replaced immediately. I stayed 3 months without problem and I will come back with pleasure. The area is pleasant, full of good shops not far away (Monoprix, Picard,...). The kitchen and utensils are sufficient for light meals. Wifi is good. On the other hand, no HDMI socket on the TV to connect a PC and watch films, a very small screen.

Very well received, very very pleasant staff. Good experience in your hotel. I highly recommend to friends or families. It was our friend who lives in Marseille who reserved this little piece of paradise for us. In addition, we were able to leave our luggage at reception to continue our last visits before leaving.

Little gem in the centre of Marseille.
Our studio was big, perfect kitchenette, big wardrobe, balcony with table and 2 chairs, very clean bathroom and separate toilet.
We were pleasantly surprised at the space comfort and cleanliness .

Breakfast on the balcony, what a pleasure, you would have to pay so much to have a hotel room with a balcony.

You get a lot for your money, this is where we will stay again .
Do not hesitate to book.

This Citadines residence is OK, it's well situated on the "rue du rouet" (it's not situated on the avenue du prado), it's only a 5-minutes walk to the Place Castellane (city center).
Rooms are clean, well maintained, but smallish. Bathroom are very small. Services are almost non-existent in this residence. There is no concierge at night, and this is not a good point !
Considered that there are cheaper hotels/residences in the same neighborhood, I think I would stay elsewhere for my next stay in Marseille.

The Citadines are a good choice for friends and family travelling together who would prefer to each have their own bedroom. Much more cost-effective than renting two hotel rooms. The apartment we stayed in had a small kitchen area with three doors giving access to a bedroom, bed / sitting room (with small terrace dining area) and bathroom, so it worked perfectly well as a 2 bed rental.

The Citadines Castellane are on a quiet road 200 yards from the attractive Place Castellane which, although out of the centre and tourist areas, has a metro stop and at least two decent mid-price brasseries. There's also a range of useful shops, a top-quality produce market and a cinema showing films in English.

What leads me to mark this down is the grotty decor. The carpets and walls had marks and stains, as did the sofa cushions. It certainly wasn't unhygenic - the bathroom was as clean as any I've been in - but it does feel run-down. However, if you just want a base to explore Marseille and have no intention of spending much time in your room, I wouldn't put you off.

The location is very good - close to Castellanes square.
I had very spacious room with all the kitchen amenities.
One may also use public lunch room to take coffee or tea.
My room was very quite. Close to supermarkets so one can prepare its own meals.

We stayed here for 3 days. Location is somewhat out but a short train ride into the main city centre. Note, the train station is a 10-15 min walk from the hotel. We had a rental car and the hotel has a secure underground parking, although book ahead with the hotel. Reasonable parking rates too. The apartment was usual Citadines set up. The room has everything one would require for a short stay. Not daily serviced unless you want to. Staff are reasonably service oriented with helpful tips. Overall, pretty ok.

We found the beds very comfortable indeed, which made for a good nights sleep. The mattress on our bed were medium/firm, but in no way hard.
