The hotel deserves a good refresh.
When you walk through the front door, you don't necessarily want to stay there. Small welcome.
Completely uninteresting breakfast area. Carpets and floors on the floors stained which is unacceptable.
.
I had to change rooms because of the walls. Tables, dishwasher complaints, floors were particularly dirty. I have stayed in many city cars and I can say that this one is the one I liked the least. I would also have liked to have been informed that it was also a social hotel so that I could make an informed choice. .Now let's talk about air conditioning in the rooms. Noise that prevents us from sleeping and what's more, there is no air conditioning in all the rooms so depending on where you sleep, you will probably be very hot. It's a bit annoying when it's very hot. I gave 3 stars just for the employees who go out of their way to make our stay as pleasant as possible. A big thank you to them.
+- Close to transport and many restaurants nearby

It’s a 15 minutes walk from the Vieux Port, few minutes on foot from the metro and very close to several supermarkets.
The check in was smooth, and the reception has been extremely available and helpful in changing my reservation without penalties even though it was just the day before.
The room was a bit small but clean and modern. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen well equipped with even a very small dishwasher included.

Our studio was big, perfect kitchenette, big wardrobe, balcony with table and 2 chairs, very clean bathroom and separate toilet.
We were pleasantly surprised at the space comfort and cleanliness .
Breakfast on the balcony, what a pleasure, you would have to pay so much to have a hotel room with a balcony.
You get a lot for your money, this is where we will stay again .
Do not hesitate to book.
Rooms are clean, well maintained, but smallish. Bathroom are very small. Services are almost non-existent in this residence. There is no concierge at night, and this is not a good point !
Considered that there are cheaper hotels/residences in the same neighborhood, I think I would stay elsewhere for my next stay in Marseille.
The Citadines Castellane are on a quiet road 200 yards from the attractive Place Castellane which, although out of the centre and tourist areas, has a metro stop and at least two decent mid-price brasseries. There's also a range of useful shops, a top-quality produce market and a cinema showing films in English.
What leads me to mark this down is the grotty decor. The carpets and walls had marks and stains, as did the sofa cushions. It certainly wasn't unhygenic - the bathroom was as clean as any I've been in - but it does feel run-down. However, if you just want a base to explore Marseille and have no intention of spending much time in your room, I wouldn't put you off.
I had very spacious room with all the kitchen amenities.
One may also use public lunch room to take coffee or tea.
My room was very quite. Close to supermarkets so one can prepare its own meals.
"Check the filters in the air vents they may need cleaning. Mine did, they cleaned them right away."Read full review
