I came for 1 night at the hotel relax. I reserved for one double room 2 days before for 55 euros. When I came, the owner, a couple, said I m wrong. The reservation was for the day before and they charge me 65 euros!!!! So I paid 10 euros more for a room I don t have, and they...

Very cheap, great location, BUT, I got bitten in the room, thought it was a mosquito, then looked under the bed and found the bed bug killer. When we got home we were bitten all over and now we have them in our flat! What a complete nightmare. The room was also very tiny and we were shown a different...

I stayed here for a few days with a friend, and the hotel in itself has an ok standard for what you are paying. But the people who own the hotel made our stay very unwelcoming. They hardly spoke any english, and had managed to get our booking wrong so we had to move out for one night when they...

I just returned from France and spent two nights in Marseille. The hotel is in an excellent location...close to the Metro, the port, and within 5 minutes walking to lots of cute little outdoor restaurants. The hotel is right across from the Opera House and once a week they do tango dancing out in the square. If you decide to...

The rooms that are on the street side are very nice, especially the ones on the first floor. However we got the room nº1 on the first floor (the last available one), very tiny, with a small window on a dark and dirty little yard. Nice breakfast, unbeatable location, very competitive price.

We have been there twice ( 2 weeks). a very nice hotel with a "French hotel" atmmosphere(5+) and sympathic people working there. Clean rooms, area around - historical (place d`opera). close to the old port. We fully recommend!!!!

I spent 5 nights here and was very satisfied. The room was small, true, but spotlessly clean and well equipped (the mini-fridge is a real plus to keep the picnic for the next day trek in the Calanques or in the collines). Nice view on the Opera house and its little square; no noisy traffic at night ( things may...

I stayed at Hotel Relax for 3 nights in October 2006. It is very close to Vieux Port, which is where you want to be, as a tourist. Yes, it is a seedy few streets, but it's near a port! Incidentally, also on same square as, and overlooking, the opera. It's safe. Friendly family place, clean. Just be aware that...

We stayed 4 nights at Hotel Relax in early October. Having Rick Steve's book this was 1 of 3 places he recommended. We had originally asked for a room with 2 twin beds, but they gave us a room with 1 double bed. We were ok with that, and stayed in it for 3 nights. On our last night, the...

“The higher the better if you wish a view, but all are good. Reception is up one floor and the rooms go up from there so all facing the square are ideal.”
