Le Vallon De Valrugues & Spa has garnered appreciation for its tranquil countryside setting near Saint Remy, with a serene and elegant atmosphere highlighted by guests. The hotel's cleanliness, particularly the immaculate rooms and well-maintained pool area, has been repeatedly praised. While the spacious rooms with terraces receive positive remarks, some guests suggest they could benefit from updates. The spa and gardens are popular amenities, though spa overcrowding and room noise have been noted as concerns. Service is generally lauded for staff attentiveness, despite occasional inconsistencies.

Establishment and its services in perfect accord with its Ranking. The reception, room services and gourmet restaurant are very appreciated. The staff is very helpful and smiling. The location allows in 10 minutes to get, on foot, to the city center of Saint Remy, otherwise a shuttle is available.

The images are an accurate reflection of the property - it's fantastic!

The check-in we did in the main building and then we relocated to La Bastide, an excellently-renovated countryhouse - less than 5 minutes' walk from the main hotel complex. It's across a not-busy road and the only noise we heard at night were some French guys in a nearby property who were clearly having fun at midnight in their pool.

If you look on Google Maps, you can see the external change to La Bastide; the addition of a terrace on all rooms, facing the pool and the replacement of the pool too. The changes are excellent and feel seamless.

We ate at the bar restaurant which was nice, the hotel also has a vast array of wines both reasonable and $$$ that you can choose from.

Breakfast is nice, it's not included but you get reasonable value. What is less nice are the wasps that want to eat with you - a problem that being so surrounded by nature will bring.

The pool area at La Bastide is well-maintained and it seems only those staying at that building bother to use it (or know about it). That's great!

We also got recommendations for where to eat in St Remy de Provence (a lovely little town, by the way) and were not disappointed.

A great experience, the staff were friendly and helpful, the property is wonderful and St Remy is an absolute gem of a town.

A great hotel for families where the kids can enjoy the large, heated pool and have ice cream in the pool bar, and play in the large garden, whilest not compromising the parents wishes of beautiful, provencial surroundings, ambiance, food and wine. The perfect combo for us. The kids absolutely loved the breakfast buffet, which was a bit on the sweet side for me, but I really enjoyed the staff who always was quick to offer me a hot drink. We stayed for a week and really enjoyed the restaurant at night. The best night was the night when the musicians came and played. I think they could have live music every night in july. Nothing special on july 14th.

The junior suite was a little snug, but we recieved flowers, wine, macrons and fruit apon arrival. A nice touch. And cleaning was fenoumenal!

Heads up: extra charges for childrens beds and childrens breakfast on top of the rate you have booked, even when booking for 2 kids inkluding breakfast. A little strange.

Have stayed in some of the nicest 5 star hotels in the south of france, and this hotel was nearly there amongst our favourites

We went here with very high expectations but unfortunately we met here the French arrogance. We were on our way to the south of France and this was our last stopover before we would arrive at our holiday villa. When arriving we were happy, there is somebody meeting you to park your car and help you with luggage. After that it was over with making you feel welcome. As we went to the reception were learned they ‘promoted’ us to a room in the dependance. This is a new building with its own swimming pool and little outside the resort. The rooms itself are spacious with a nice terrace although the interior designer should really come back for the bathroom design, there is no ventilation and I have never showered on a toilet pot?? Anyway the problem is, it is far from the main building and the service at the pool is done by roomservice, that takes a long time. It is also next to a road with cars driving right next to the pool. The other ‘surprise’ we got at the check in was about the dinner. We are picky eaters and do not like Michelin star restaurants with set menus so we booked the bar restaurant where we could eat a la carte. We booked a table when we made the room reservations which was months before arrival. The hotel decided that the evening we were there, it was bbq night with a set menu and no a la carte. No problem if they would have told us in advance, we would have made other arrangements, but on the spot on a busy Friday evening and after being in a car for long hours we were really not happy. Of course we made our complaints about all of this and when asking for the manager the first reaction was that she also couldn’t do anything about it. She did call us and offered a room in the main building but by then we were already to tired of having to fight over everything and decided to leave it as it is and order room service. And credits for the lady of the room service, she was quick and very friendly all the time! Overall we are not going back, for us it felt like it is not about our needs, you just have to take it their way and that is not our way of celebrating holidays.

Dear @366perfecth, We apologize for this experience. We upgraded you because we had availability and we're sorry it didn't live up to your expectations. The new building "La Bastide" is appreciate of many guests because it's renew et quiet, but we can understand that is not the same review for everybody. This is why we proposed you to have a room in the main building to make your experience with us as pleasant as possible. Regarding dinner at the bar, when booking online it is written at the time of booking, we are sorry if this was not clear enough. We hope you'll give us another chance to test the experience in the main building, and we look forward to welcoming you. Yours Sincerely

Staying here was a rather mixed experience. We expected a 5 star experience, but while the location and pool area are lovely, the service is patchy and the room did not meet expectations. While the room was spacious and the bed was comfortable and clean, the toilet would not flush and the flooring is cheap laminate and lets the overall experience down. It’s as if the hotel needs some further investment at this point. Some of the younger staff would benefit from more client service training, but the housekeeping staff were excellent and responsive. Overall, this is not a 5 star resort - it is just too patchy - and we would not rush back to it.

dream we
I stayed 3 nights in your hotel with my daughter. A dream !
the hotel is sumptuous, the furniture, the flowers everywhere. The valet and luggage service was so nice.
The gastro table is one of the best I have dined on. Delicious, refined, cozy. Divine cocktails. Room service arriving at 9 p.m. after a 3-hour drive perfect.
Special mention for respecting the place of children. thank you for allowing the children to go to the spa until 2:30 p.m. (without this, I would not have gone). To offer a children's rate for breakfast, to offer children's menus in the restaurant and even a bathrobe in their size. My daughter felt valued and that felt good!!!
the spa is sublime, the pool is very warm, the view, the comfort of the deckchairs (too bad some people monopolize several of them by themselves). I would have appreciated enjoying it a little more on the day of my departure but I was told that even the spa had to be left at noon (yet no one at the spa that Monday, we were disappointed).
The view of the magnificent park.
Valet Christophe, very friendly and thank you to the young woman at reception on Sunday lunchtime for suggesting a walk to Néo Park, we loved it! (some with a very friendly welcome, one a little less...)
The only fault for me remains the room. I took the classic. the mattress very very uncomfortable, the flushing toilet, the neighborhood quite noisy in the morning on weekends. Small and quite austere. Accustomed to 4 stars, I find more pleasant rooms there (the tea which looks like mud, I took the one from the spa!)
we perfect thank you again.
Little suggestion for breakfast, homemade omelettes and pancakes and it’s heaven! I'll be back !!!

We had a great time relaxing in this hotel, which has many positive points.
The location is very pretty, not far from the center of Saint Rémy, with a very practical shuttle system (even if the journey is largely doable on foot, around 1/4 hour). The gardens and swimming pool are well maintained and charming.
We found all the staff professional and very helpful. The general atmosphere is also pleasant, with a rather friendly clientele.
The breakfast is very good, including an excellent cheese platter and a very well-stocked sweet corner. There may be a lack of choice of hot dishes.
However, the room was a bit disappointing, especially the bathroom. This would require modernization.
Finally, the spa is pleasant, but the sauna and hammam area is quite small. The massages are very good.

4 nights with half board, because the cuisine is simply brilliant! A “more than complete” breakfast, all with very professional service, and infinite kindness, coupled with a simplicity that puts you at ease, in a 5-star hotel! Relaxing, calm setting, with a new spacious bar (even if we loved the old one, very small, transformed into a billiard room!). Wellness area with heated swimming pool, hammam, sauna and jacuzzi. A beautiful outdoor swimming pool (with amateurs in it in October!) and treatments provided by a changing team, but still as competent and pleasant. The rooms are rather modest in size, but sufficient and functional, the cleaning is impeccable and discreet, and the bedding is comfortable, even if relatively soft!
And always the impression of meeting friends, almost a "family" atmosphere. Thank you to the whole team (including reception and valet/luggage handlers), and see you soon!

There were things we loved about our stay and things that we didn't enjoy.

The main thing we didn't like about our stay was that the hotel was under construction and in disarray. It didn't feel like a 5-star place to us. There was no mention of the construction when we booked the stay. They should have disclosed this.

Most of the staff was great, but we also had a few issues. We sat in the bar for a good hour, around midday, watching staff come in and out, and not one person asked us if we wanted a drink.

Our travel companion stayed in one of the newer units, and when opening the shutters (they come in your room and open/close these without asking), he slipped on the damp tile (no rug pads and this is the sort of tile that when wet is very slippery) and hurt his ACL. We notified the hotel, and they offered an ice bag. We asked for a mat/entry rug or something to put in the rooms, and we never heard anything back from them.

Good things—the property grounds are lovely! The complimentary shuttle into St Remy was great, and always at the ready. The receptionists were accommodating and offered us good places to eat in town.

Overall, this stay was fine, but it needs more attention to meet a 5-star place. Maybe once the renovations are done, it will feel more this way.

Dear carriejolied, Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding your recent stay with us. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused by the ongoing construction on the property. We understand that this did not meet your expectations of a 5-star experience, and we regret that it was not disclosed to you prior to your arrival. Please be assured that we are actively working to minimize disruptions caused by the construction and to improve the overall guest experience during this time. We also apologize for the lapse in service you experienced at our bar. It is unacceptable that you were not approached by our staff during your time there, and we will address this with our team to ensure it does not happen again in the future. Regarding the incident with your travel companion slipping on the damp tile, we are deeply sorry for any injuries sustained. Your safety is of utmost importance to us, and we will take immediate action to address the lack of rug pads and to ensure that appropriate measures are in place to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future. On a positive note, we are delighted to hear that you enjoyed our property grounds and found our complimentary shuttle service convenient. We will continue to strive to provide excellent service and are grateful for your kind words about our receptionists. We appreciate your constructive feedback, and it will certainly help us to improve and better meet the expectations of our guests. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back once our renovations are complete and to provide you with the 5-star experience you deserve. Warm regards, Aude CHABREDIER

Beautiful gardens and swimming pool with bar / restaurant overlooking. Overpriced food / drink (€7 for a bottle of water and no tap water available). The comfort rooms are not 5* quality at all. Small and a little run down. Beds / pillows are very uncomfortable. Air con isn’t strong enough so the room is very warm, even overnight. The TV is tiny and you cannot access any international channels or use Netflix / connect your phone to watch what you like. The toiletries are lovely (L’Occitane Provence). The car service into town is fabulous and very handy when it’s a 15 minute walk in 30+ degree heat. The staff are friendly enough. Breakfast was a slightly above average buffet, again overpriced at €25.
