My husband and I were in the south of France for 3 weeks and we stayed at Le Chateau des Alpilles for three nights....and already I wished we had stayed even longer! This is without a doubt, one of the finest hotels I have ever stayed...anywhere in the world. Superlatives just can't do this hotel justice.

Pulling into the 100+ year old tree-lined drive of the property, you immediately see the Chateau and think of it as a palace. We were immediately greeted by Vlad, the best valet, porter, greeter, front desk person we've ever met (sorry we didn't get to see him on his motorcycle, but that's another story!!).

Honestly, the entire hotel staff was excellent...for the waitress at breakfast to the front desk people helping with taxis and dinner reservations. The staff is all attentive, professional, friendly and available. Fantastic.

The physical property is beyond description! From the swimming pool, tennis courts, lawn lounging chairs, spa, koi pond/fountain, outdoor dining and fantastic bar....every aspect of this hotel is perfection. Everything is exceptionally well maintained, thought out, and available whenever a guest needs it.

Our room was spectacular...spacious, well appointed, comfortable chairs, plenty of storage space (and drawers!). The bed was heaven and the bathroom, with it's double vanity, had plenty of space and fantastic water pressure! One of thousands of noticed details...the windows all have screens on them, so you can actually sleep with the windows opened at night (to hear the frogs!) without fear of being eaten alive by bugs...Brilliant thinking.

Rarely would I select a hotel first and the destination second...generally we agree on a town/city and then pick a hotel accordingly. But in the case of Le Chateau des Alpilles, I would definitely come back for 4-5 nights just to spend ever minute at the hotel. It was THAT good! Thanks to everyone for taking such good care of us!...We'll definitely be back.

Driving up the long tree-lined driveway was just a taste of what we would be experiencing. As soon as we stopped the car near the front entrance, we were greeted by a very pleasant porter who then parked our car in the nearby car park. Our reception at the front desk was equally pleasant and friendly. We had booked a room in the main old château building and we had certain preferences with respect to the location and outlooks, and that is exactly what we got.

The room was spacious and had really beautiful outlooks to the garden. It was tastefully furnished. The bathroom provided double sinks. Air-conditioning was excellent, and that was a must given the extreme heat while we were there.

All the staff were exceptionally helpful. We did not eat breakfast at the hotel, but we had dinner at the hotel twice. Dinner was served on the garden/patio surrounded by a huge old plane trees. The tables were well spaced and felt very private. The food was excellent.

The grounds are stunning. Apart from the large swimming pool and a tennis court, there are lawns with sculptures and water features. We did not use the pool area but it looked to be very accommodating with a cafe area and abundant sitting areas and chaise lounges.

The car park was in a secure fenced in area.

I have rated this hotel very highly, although the room was not perfect. Toiletries and other supplies were not always replaced and some furnishings and the bathroom seemed somewhat dated and worn. Instead of little packets of instant Nescafé, I would expect a hotel of this caliber to have a Nespresso or similar coffee pod machine in the room.

Nonetheless this is a gorgeous hotel with wonderful facilities and superb staff and definitely merits the highest rating.

We stayed for 4 nights in the main house / first floor. Arrival was seemless and welcoming : Juliette was a delight and very friendly and helpful.
The chateau itself is beautifully presented / rooms delightful & clean.
The pool area is superb with large spaces to spread out have privacy and a guaranteed lounger. All of this area is impeccable as you would expect. There is a bar & lunch (restaurant) area here too.
The space benefits from a very large garden / much bigger in reality which is a delight as often places use wider angle lenses to picture and then clients are just disappointed!
We eat here on the 4 nights outside in front of the chateau / tables are beautiful/ & well spaced out to give privacy / again such an important element.
Dinner was exquisite / we mixed it up over the 4 nights as the menu did not change. On one night we had the beef sharing for 2 / this was disappointing/ we found it tough / but we didn’t say anything as it was probably the cut.
We had breakfast and it was lovely / we had the ‘chateau menu’ which gave a good mix. Overall, our stay - was as it said on the tin / not cheap / but as expected which is great when on holidays that you get what you expect. You definitely need a car here as it is too far from St. Remy. Parking is very secure / all locked in.
One thing to note is that the chateau take outside bookings for lunch by the pool where lunch guests swim and hang out by the pool area. This area is not exclusive to staying paying guests. This area is also not secure or locked in / so be careful with young children. When we stayed, there was a mix of clients from families to couples.

Dear guest, thank you ery much for taking the time to leave such a great comment. We are very please that you enjoyed the peace of the place as well as the staff, cuisine, breakfast and rooms. Sorry the beef was not up to your expectations, we are committed to working with fresh produce from local producers, but unfortunately, a few misses can happen. It is true that to offer you such a large garden and space we need to be outside of the city and so you do need a car to go into the center (otherwise it is 15/20 minutes walk) or explore the region. We do accept non resident guest to come to the restaurant, for lunch by the pool in summer or dinner in front of the main house but our hotel guest have priority. Sometimes, when the hotel is not too busy, we allow them to rent a sunbed for the afternoon as well but we make sure that our hotel guest are not disturb. We hope to have the pleasure to welcome you again very soon. Best regards, Emilie

Incredible experience staying in this utterly charming Chateau. From the moment you enter the gates and drive up the tree lined drive you feel transported. The property is absolutely stunning, the rooms tastefully decorated and full of personal touches, the breakfast and dinner served in the park like setting outside were scrumptious. But what truly sets this place apart is the service.

The staff went out of their way to meet our every need and made us feel so incredibly welcomed. A special thank you to Vlad and Ann, whose suggestions of places to visit, as well as attractions and restaurants to try were spot on, and we enjoyed getting to know them.

Staying at Le Chateau des Alpilles was one of the highlights of our trip, and I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

This is where French heaven begins :) from the moment you enter the gate luxury begins. Just a km outside of the very beautiful St Remy de Provence is this gorgeous Chateau. E were grated by the lovely owner who was kind enough to let me choose the room that I wanted ( note every room is differently decorated and each is incredibly beautiful and tastefully done) I choose a beautiful big and gorgeous room :)
The owner also gave us restaurant recommendations which were too good, but I would highly recommend eating dinner at the chateau, the food is exquisite and so incredibly delicious and the people who work at the chateau know how to take care of their guests in the best possible way, the same goes for the delicious breakfast :)
They also have tennis courts in the chateau which can be booked and if I had it my way I would be playing tennis there entire afternoon :)
The spa and the gym are so very beautiful.
The swimming pool at the time we visited was closed because it was quite cold but now that it’s open I’m sure it’s heavenly.
We thank everyone in the chateau for CV their incredible hospitality and we can’t wait to be back very soon :)

My husband and I stayed at Le Château des Alpilles, on the outskirts of Saint Rémy de Provence, in November 2021. It was one of our more expensive hotels on a three-week driving trip focusing mostly on southern France, but we didn't regret the cost. Everything about the stay was delightful. The grounds are beautiful, the rooms are luxurious, and the beds are ultra-comfortable. And the restaurant is not to be missed! Because Covid was (and continues to be) a serious problem in Europe, we had dinner and breakfast in our room. Our dinner was one of the best we've had anywhere. Saint-Rémy is also a great small town, and even in November (when many small towns in France may be close to dead) there was quite a buzz in the center. The staff were all uniformly lovely. A great place!

A Dream of a Gem in Provence! Everything, from the beautiful settings to the outstanding local cuisine, gorgeously furnished rooms along with exquisite bed linen, is out of this world. How amazing and admirable that a family home can be kept in such style to indulge its guests. Long may it last. Cannot wait to come back. Be sure to find Vlad who will enhance your stay :)

My wife and I stayed here in 2023. We had an amazing experience. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The rooms are clean and well maintained. The food is delicious. All, of which, should be expected for a hotel of this caliber. The thing that sets this place apart are the grounds and property. The experience of sitting out front, having a quite breakfast and coffee with my wife as the cool breeze and morning sun light filtered thru the plane trees lining the long drive leading into the property. This is a memory that will stay with me for the rest of my life. If you are considering this hotel, do yourself a favor and book it. You will not regret it.

This place is stunning from the service, pool, quiet, restaurant and just a good relaxing environment away from the peak holiday traffic and tourism of this region. We are from Australia on a business and holiday trip in the region. It was a 5 star relaxing experience that we needed each day to start the day fresh and re-energise at the end of the day. We will be back soon if covid does not rear up again. Thank you to everyone for a relaxing experience.

We have been coming here for 40 years and it still remains top notch. The rooms are constantly being renovated and the restaurant is star level at more than reasonable prices. The park and the castle have a special charm that you will not find anywhere else. A stay here is 100 out of the charm of Provence. We will definitely keep coming back.

We had difficulty finding it. There is a narrow road off off the circular road that leads to the Chateau. We ended up asking directions, as at the time the signage was not obvious to it. The Chateau was well worth the trip. Enjoy.
