Detailed Reviews
We decided to discover Aix les Bains during a long Pentacôte weekend. As we had never been there before we relied on the internet to find a suitable hotel. We were absolutely delighted that we chose the Hotel des Bains. The couple running the hotel were very charming and gave us a warm welcome upon arrival. We loved our well equipped impeccably clean room. It had high ceilings , a very large double comfortable bed , well appointed bathroom and most important was extremely quiet. The buffet breakfast was also very varied and served in a very nice dining room with enormous windows. The hotel is perfectly situated in the center of town next to a beautiful park. The bus stop for taking the bus to the lake side is just across the road from the hotel and the train station is a mere 10 minutes walk away. We would have no hesitation to recommend this hotel.

The Hôtel des Bains has recently opened its restaurant to non-spa guests. Thanks to their menu displayed on the sidewalk for a reasonable price we decided to eat there. Starter, main course, dessert for 22 euros. A very tasty and well presented meal, we enjoyed the main course with sliced duck breast and sauce as well as sweet potato puree. Very warm welcome, friendly. We highly recommend;

The 27th December 2014 we will never forget, The Hotel des Bains was officially closed for renovations, following an extreme snow storm in the alps all the roads were closed so we were taken to an emergency shelter by Crystal Ski where we were fed bread an water and expected to sleep on the floor!
My Wife spotted the hotel as we passed and sent me up there where I was greeted my Michel who had opened his doors after hearing of the problems, Michel offered me two rooms at a very keen rate, apologized that there was no Kitchen and that the heating had only just gone on and also that there were building materials all over the place!
Who cares, we had a bed for the night, Michel directed us to a restaurant in town and we got a good nights sleep to help us endure the ordeal forced on us by Crystal,
Michel was carrying out the renovations himself to a very high standard and when they reopen in march I expect it all to be very nice, If i was in the area under other circumstances I wouldn't hesitate to stay here, Thank you Michel and Grace

Nothing was too much trouble and we were made to feel most welcome by the owner of this hotel. The decor may be dated but everything was clean and had great atmosphere. Centrally located to the older town, 5 min walk to Casino, 10 min walk up the hill to the Spa. To get to the lake it is a good 40-50 min walk or take the local bus. Great eating places close by. This hotel is located right in the middle of what was once the grand palaces (now expensive hotels or apartments) where royalty visited from all over Europe and England came for their summer breaks and to experience the healing spas of Aix Les Bains. Free wif-fi in the lobby (also in bedrooms but signal strength was considerably weaker). Great breakfast buffet. Great price. We had a car and were given a car spot at no extra charge - the owner let us leave the car here for a few hours after we checked out so we could spend some more time to see the spas. Definitely would stay here again.

Centrally located, couldn't be closer to town!
The decor is dated, but in very good condition and adds to the atmosphere that this hotel provides.
The staff were nothing but helpful and very pleasant.
I was solo, so no single rooms available, so they gave me a (really) large room (very clean)for a single price, very pleasantly adaptable, and a great price!
If you like continental breakfasts, it's adequate, at least the morning I had it.
Parking was made available, at no additional cost,
Free wifi in the lobby.
Can't compare it to anything else in the area, but would easily recommend it.

I stayed here for a total of five nights. My room was spotless and the hotel was very clean. The beds were very comfortable. Wifi was very fast and free . The buffet breakfast is very good. It is a family operated establishment so expect good service. We had many meals, the ones I like the most were the lamb and the duck. They were very good. The hotel is an excellent value choice. We will be back next year.

Small but cozy hotel! I felt so welcomed the moment I checked in. They have a nice lobby area with free wi-fi and the bedrooms are clean and comfortable especially for the bargain they had the rooms for! Definitely will stay here again!
