Imperial Palace Hotel garners praise for its immaculate rooms boasting beautiful lake views, although a few guests have remarked on the outdated decor. The spa and breakfast receive commendations, yet some visitors mention a small spa and chilly pool. The hotel's spotless condition is a highlight for many, contributing to the overall atmosphere that blends charm with dated elements. While the staff is often lauded for their attentiveness, there are occasional grievances regarding slow service. Nestled by a scenic lake, the hotel's location is ideal, despite occasional noise. However, guests caution that the experience may not fully justify the cost.

We had a fantastic couple of days at this hotel. The greatest thing here is of course the wonderful location, in a park right on the lake and a nice stroll from Annecy town. We loved waking up to the stunning views from our terrace.

But the experience was also enhanced by the wonderful staff, so a big thank you to all of them, the service we encountered throughout was exceptional.

We didn’t have dinner at the hotel but breakfast was very good (although the layout of the buffet area can get a little congested). The pool and spa area was wonderfully relaxing and sparklingly clean. Overall a fab visit and we would definitely return here.

We had a wonderful stay at The Imperial Hotel in Annecy. Traveling as a family of five with two small dogs, we found the rooms to be 5-star quality, with excellent attention to detail. The concierge was helpful and efficient, and the reception staff were polite and professional. We booked the Deluxe Lake Terrace Room, and the views of the lake and mountains were spectacular.

Every morning, we enjoyed breakfast downstairs on the public terrace. The food was delicious, well-cooked, and offered plenty of choices.

The only downside was the bar service. The lady serving us was rude and directed us to order room service, even though my husband had gone to the bar because the room service phone wasn’t working.

Overall, the hotel is lovely, Annecy is amazing, and we would return.

Very nice hotel that has preserved its historic charm...
The location is great and beautiful views....
The staff is knowledgeable and very nice whether it be valets, receptionists, waiters or room staff... a big thank you to them...
The SPA is a little small compared to the capacity of the establishment but it is very clean and functional....
At the restaurant level, we had dinner at the brewery and we were satisfied ....
Special requests are well taken into account and everything is done to satisfy guests....
I recommend this property and will return with great pleasure .....

I regret giving such a low rating because I believe our experience was likely just "bad luck" and not representative of others, but we cannot possibly approve of this stay.

We traveled with a 2-year-old child. We arrived at the hotel at 1 PM, and the room wasn’t ready. No problem, we did the check-in to avoid waiting later and went for a walk. We returned at 4 PM (the official check-in time) to request the key. Incredibly, even after knowing for 3 hours that we were there, the room was still not ready at the contractual time. Moreover, for some reason we couldn’t understand, children are only allowed in the indoor pool from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM (and from 9 AM to 10 AM if anyone actually believes children will go during breakfast time), so we asked to go later and were told no.

Instead, they suggested we open our suitcases in the lobby to get our swimsuits and go to the spa before entering the room. Really, the only option they could give us was to open three suitcases in front of all the other guests in the lobby?

We complained, and they let us go to the room at 4:15 PM while the housekeeping staff cleaned it hurriedly (it was like a scene from a comedy, with 5 or 6 people running around our room).

It’s worth mentioning that the hotel staff apologized, but it felt like empty words. There was no compensation or gesture offered (we didn't ask for one either, as we hate doing that).

This experience, combined with the outdated condition of the facilities, a lack of thorough cleaning (see photos of cobwebs in a €650 per night room), and absurd pricing (see photo: €39 per person for breakfast in the room 😂), makes it impossible for us to recommend this hotel.

Perhaps it was a luxury hotel in the 1950s, but today all that remains is the price. The service (with some exceptions) and the facilities are at a 3-star level, and there are much better and more comfortable places in Annecy for half the price.

Impeccable room / attentive staff without being obsequious / perfectly maintained spa / copious and VERY varied breakfast (special mention for the homemade Savoie cake)
I asked for an additional suitcase rack and got it as soon as one was made available, our bike was stored in a secure room, the valet managed the vehicle very quickly
Just one regret: no sunbathing to enjoy the outdoors, but at the same time that was never promised.
We are delighted with our night.

We were in Annecy for a show and we spent the night at the Imperial Palace
Our schedule did not allow us to eat in the restaurant and we requested Room service, which is excellent with a very extensive menu.
We really enjoyed our in-room meals it was excellent.
The breakfast is also magnificent with a plethora of choices and a wonderful buffet.
The staff takes great care, special mention to the concierge who took care of parking my vehicle and returned it to me the next day with the charged battery.
It is obvious that our next stay in Annecy will be in this hotel again.
In addition, the value for money is very good.

The Imperial is in a beautiful location right on the shores of Lake Annecy. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the lake. The view was incredibly beautiful. Our room was really clean and comfortable and the customer service was mostly great.
During our 3 day stay, we had terrible internet connection in our room which we complained about several times. We were told that as it was free there was nothing they could do. It worked in the hallway, but not in our room. In our 5 week tour around France, this was our most expensive hotel and the only one that could not provide a proper internet connection. This was unacceptable and I encourage the hotel to find a way to fix this. For instance you could add an amplifier in rooms where a connection seems to have issues. This is not rocket science.
We had one breakfast overlooking the lake which was magical.
Another thing that would elevate this hotel would be an area on the lawn with lounge chairs and direct access to the lake to swim. I am perplexed why this does not already exist? You are right on the cleanest lake in Europe and hotel guests have to walk 10 min down to lie on the grass on their towels with the rest of the city. Again, I wouldn't mind if we were at a 2 or 3 star hotel, but the Imperial should have its own outdoor lounge area and swimming access.
We also used the spa. The massage we had was really lovely. Note that there is no "hot tub" in the spa. The pool you sit in is very cool. Then there is a sauna and steam room.

Arrived around 3:15 p.m., the receptionist told us that the room was not ready, she that it would not be before 4:00 p.m. which corresponds to what was announced. However, other guests who arrived afterwards had their rooms. Having called her several times, the receptionist told me to call the housekeeper and never did and at 4:10 p.m., the room was still not ready which is not normal. Finally, I was given the keys without explanation or support while other guests were accompanied with their luggage. I think it's an incorrect service for an establishment of this standing.
The so-called "prestige" rooms are actually of average quality. The air conditioning did not work (fortunately it was not hot) and the television offers no particular advantage. The sink made a very strange noise when the water was flowing. Only the bedding is of good quality. We also enjoyed the welcome gift but less the breakfast at 29 euros which consists only of pastries, a glass of fruit that seem to have come out of a can, breads, butter and jams and a yogurt for 2 (for this Award it is clearly not worthwhile).
I reported at reception that the soap dispenser was not working but it was never repaired. Furthermore, the Pension does not have a bicycle space for guests and we have to go out accompanied each time to pick them up or take them to a space that looks like a closed box. I would like to acknowledge the excellence of the concierge service and spa staff. As for the cleanliness, a wedding seemed to take place during our stay and the spa floor was littered with rubbish at the end of the day, the toilets in a dismal state which is not really what is expected in any Pension.
Finally, we were disappointed with our stay at this Pension and due to the Award we will choose another Pension during our next getaway to Annecy.

We arrived with 13 people and were made very welcome at reception. Our luggage was brought to the room very quickly, large and comfortable room with all the comforts (large shower and separate toilet). It is a **** establishment which does not usurp its stars and which I will warmly recommend to those around me!

A breakfast on the Imperial terrace on a Saturday morning to start the weekend off right. We order, the coffee arrives... and breakfast 10 minutes later. We point out to the waitress that it's very long. Scathing response: “I have other tables to serve” and she turns on her heel. We call her back, pointing out that there are only two tables on the terrace (including ours) and none inside, and that the coffee is cold. We ask her to make them again for us, which she does, signifying her bad mood by slamming the cups on the glass table. No knife to butter the toast, the waitress has disappeared, we search everywhere, 20 meters away 3 other employees seeing a customer in need rush to turn their backs on us... In short, at 30 euros for breakfast (coffee, orange juice, industrial croissant toast, we really expected better. And to be better received.
The welcome is not really better in the evening at the bar, nor at lunchtime at the brasserie. If you are looking for a palace service, go your way!

Sorry bout that. I was talking about the Waldorf Astoria above. Was confused. L'Imperial Palace- bed was a queen. Room size was ok. I did walk in to a lake view room and the views are amazing. Sunrise facing. We stayed in a park view room. For Autumn- it was quite pretty. My favorite part of the hotel was the spa. We took advantage of the fact most guests were at breakfast at 8am and went for a swim then. We had the entire pool to ourselves. Made for great photographs! The room was a room. Comfortable but nothing to fawn over.

Dear Guest, Thank you for visiting us soon! Coming from Geneva airport is easier and more convenient by car; either with a taxi transfer or a car rental that can be rent in Geneva airport. This first option is the most convenient. The costs are around 120€ on weekdays with a regular sized car. Our team stays at your disposal, should you like to arrange a taxi transfer. Please also note that Swiss taxis at the Airport are more expensive. Otherwise it is possible to take a bus from Geneva; it is less expensive (around 20€ per person) but takes much more time and drives you to Annecy train station. Our concierge service is available for any further information on + 33 450 09 31 11. Looking forward to welcoming you soon. Best Regards. Steve, Concierge
