After getting my second vaccine, I just needed to get away, and since Lyon is a short train ride away, Lyon it was. I chose the hotel based on location and reviews and what a good decision that was! First, the location was perfect for me, lovely neighborhood feel, a block from the river, tons of bakeries and take out spots right there,. The hotel is small, charming, clean, bed was comfortable, bathroom was spacious and modern. The breakfast room is cheerful, and you choose your time so as to insure adequate spacing is achieved. I observed how committed the staff is to insuring all Covid procedures are followed, masks worn in all public spaces, tables immediately cleaned. Thank you for a delightful stay in your charming hotel!

As always I had an excellent stay! The hotel is very well maintained and run by a friendly and helpful family - calm and peaceful and nicely located next to the church of Saint-Martin d’Ainay in the quarter of Ainay and close to the Gare Perrache. I am coming back on a regular base for business trips and never have been dissappointed! :)

We selected this location due to the trip advisor reviews. Let's talk about the quirks of the hotel... Do not expect a street level lobby. It does not exist. There is a sign on the building, but this is a shared building wih (presumably) other residents and businesses. The hotel is on the 2nd floor (as I recall). So if you are used to an American style lodging, be prepared for something different from the beginning. The elevator to get to the hotel is small. We had to take multiple trips to get our bags up. At the top is another door that takes you into the 'hotel' lobby. We stayed in a junior suite, which is large by european standards. I think we would have found the other rooms too small. You will also be given quite a key set. You will be given 3 keys. One key is for the hotel door (for after hours), one key is for your room, and they have an RFID fob to get you in from the street to the inner lobby, and from the inner lobby to the elevator. They explain all this to you, and it isn't difficult, but it can seem like it to begin with. We had no issues. The hotel is old, but the rooms have been wonderfully preserved. I think the pictures are mostly an accurate presentation of what you are getting. The staff was very accomodating. They gave us very detailed instructions on things to do that we based our plans off of for the several days they were there. It is a 3-5 minute walk to the metro station. Learn and use the Lyon transportation system and save yourself some walking. We found the bathroom in the room to be more than adequate a very nice for European standards. In summary: Expect a little quirkiness with this one, but the price cannot be beat for what you get.

I stayed at this hotel two years and returned for another stay of almost two weeks. It remains a delight. The proprietors and staff are all helpful, polite and accomodating. The rooms are what should be expected in a 2* French hotel, but very well-maintained. The location, a few steps from one of my favorite bouchons, is perfect.

Upon our arrival, we were greeted by the owner of the hotel who was very knowledgeable about the local historical sites. As we informed her that we were only going to be in Lyon for a single day , she very kindly curated the whole day for us with amazing detail. What’s more, we followed her excellent advise and even had time to spare to do a little shopping. We went everywhere on foot. Highly recommend visiting the Roman Lugdunum Ruins and amphitheater at Fourviere Hill. The room we had although small was charming with the most important aspect of the hotel, a comfortable bed! We slept very well after an exhausting day of travel and sightseeing. One may find the entrance a little odd as the lobby is on the 3rd floor and the elevator can be a bit of a tight squeeze if you have luggage with you. We opted for their continental breakfast which offers choice of croissants, pastries and excellent coffee. We hope to make a return visit to Lyon. Why? Because they have such cool people there....
