This is quite unique accommodation which essentially consists of two room options at this location and a third room a couple of blocks away. The rooms are owned and managed by Frederic whose photographic gallery is situated in the complex below the accommodation. Being in a building centuries old, the rooms are distinctly different in layout and decor so it... More

Location, charm, atmosphere, decoration, cleanliness, good service... Most exceptionally the superb location and charming building/rooms. Just perfect in every sense. If you find a place here, don't look elsewhere, just book it. You won't regret it.

The name Artelit refers to the collection of art that decorates this lovely light room in the centre of old Lyon. The owner runs an antiques shop down the same lane, and he has furnished the room, at the base of an historic tower (sorry dont know more!) with a wide range of pictures and more. Very good powerful shower... More

The ARTELIT 1565 Suite is like an antique shop or stage set; that looks good but not practical for a room for three or more. The master bed is in a small loft space and when you get out of bed you must remember there is are large oak beams above your head. If you are are under five feet... More

This wonderful boutique hotel was such a find. I had selected it because of its superb location - only having 2 nights in Lyon, I thought it would allow us maximum time to explore the Old Town (which it did). However, to be honest, I thought we might sacrifice comfort for quirkiness and location. How wrong I was! Very comfortable... More

We stayed here for just one glorious night. The room is located in the old centre, behind the medieval Tour Rose. The room was filled with antiques. It was incredible - I spent a lot of time just looking at them. The room was very clean and comfortable, with two Queen-size beds, one on a mezzanine floor (perfect for the... More

I stayed here for two days during my 58 day trip through Europe. The hotel is well located and the owner is very helpful. He is a very talented photographer. Breakfast is a couple of blocks away at a bakery which opens at 8AM. Two pastries, juice and coffee. This did not compare well to breakfasts at other BnBs at... More

This is a very eclectic lodging. The rooms are jammed with very interesting pieces and photos, and Jean was an excellent source of information about Lyon. If you stay in the room at the top of the stairs, across from the tower, duck down getting out of bed or you'll hit head on the fabulous beam that runs across the... More

A gorgeous room and location - something really special that you'll always remember. Frederic was very flexible and helpful. We stayed as a family of four for one night. Two nights would have been better as we would have had more time to explore. More than that and the limitations on storage space and parking might have created difficulties and... More

We have stayed here a couple times now and absolutely adore it, everything is so centrally located and the place itself, while a bit ecclectic, is fun and different. Cant wait to go back, see you soon Frederic!
