Nestled in the heart of Lyon, the Mercure Lyon Centre Beaux Arts Hotel garners praise for its prime location close to cultural sites and eateries. Guests have lauded the spacious, luminous rooms with grand windows, though there are mentions of the need for modernizing some room features. The staff's service is frequently celebrated for their attentiveness and warmth, especially during special occasions. While opinions on value are split, with some finding the rates reasonable and others not, the amenities, particularly room features, are well-regarded despite calls for enhanced breakfast space and shower pressure.

Great location with a view of Jacobin Square, lots of restaurants nearby and walkable to many of the sites. The "Privilege Room" is spacious and light with big windows and incredible soundproofing. The room was clean and the staff friendly, and there are a variety of food items to choose from at breakfast. There are also a few English TV channels available. The only glitch was the aircon wouldn't go below 75 F/24 C, which was fine until 100 F/38 C heat hit the city for four days and the room became hotter as well. We paid $260 USD per night, which included breakfast.

I spent three days traveling alone in Lyon and the staff at the hotel helped make it a memorable experience. The location on a beautiful square was exceptionally convenient and the room was impressively quiet. The room was spotless and having seen some of the smaller rooms I would recommend the room upgrade.

Prior to my visit, I received an email with some useful information and the staff was able to help me secure a reservation in advance for a restaurant that I was very interested in.

I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

For our 3rd stay in Lyon (since 2018), and our 3rd stay at the Hotel Beau Arts,
we wanted to keep room 501 ( 5th floor), , classic on courtyard quiet; this one still nice, spacious, , in good condition, with the bathroom behind the partition that supports the TV set, with a nice shower, and toilet, inside; room part with seat to rest, cupboard, writing table, mini fridge, with drinks, at discretion, safe; nothing missing; maybe the windows deserve a refreshment; the big problem remains the breakfast room, which since our 1st pass in December 2018, has not been able to expand yet ( classified building), and on Sunday morning, the staff must juggle with customers to find them a place! otherwise, always nice, central establishment, everything is done on foot, with a bus from the station god ( C13), which leaves you ropers 400 meters! a big thank you again to all the team, including Ksenia (the reception chef), Remi , the director, for their listening, and the little attention to us!
looking forward to seeing you again,
Danièle and Claude SUPPO, NICE, FRANCE.

Host extremely well located to discover the city center of Lyon. On the other hand, room maintenance is limited: just cleaning, smell of closed, air conditioning Flemish. Breakfast is okay but the room is tiny for the Pension size. Our status Accor provides a welcome drinks free: surprisingly 2 rooms reserved 4 people and only 2 drinks elsewhere (Biarritz) we had 4... The staff of reception and breakfast are very professional but unfortunately the observation is there. Award quality ratio remains correct.

Hotel with a very good location in the heart of Lyon.

Competent and always smiling staff.

A personalized welcome with a little card is always nice.
A magnificent air-conditioned corner room with 4 windows overlooking the square.
Coffee maker, minibar and small treats await you in the room.

Buffet breakfasts with some homemade products from Tinker Bell.

The only downside is public parking, which is a bit expensive when you come by car.

In summary: almost perfect!!!

We stayed in this hotel on a stop over travelling between the south coast and Calais. The hotel is actually really nice with great staff. We had a few issues with our room however, the air conditioning is really poor, the room was extremely hot and it was a struggle to sleep. The shower is also extremely poor, the water pressure is non existent on the overhead rainfall shower, it really makes it difficult to rinse off the soap etc, pretty poor considering the hotel is actually pretty good.
Dog friendly which was nice, parking is at the Republique parking garage around 5 minute walk away, this was quite pricey for an overnight stay and you don't get any discount for staying at the hotel despite it being 'hotel recommended' parking. I probably wouldn't stay here again.

Dear Jon, Thank you for choosing our hotel for your stopover and for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re glad to hear that you found our staff friendly and appreciated our dog-friendly policy. I'm very sorry to read that you had some troubles with the temperature in your room. While we strive to maintain a comfortable indoor temperature, it can indeed be difficult to keep the room at 22 degrees when outside temperatures reach 38 degrees or higher during heatwaves. However, we are continually looking for ways to improve our cooling systems and will take your feedback into account. Our team is always available in the case you want to change room or to help you settle the temperature by bringing you a fan in case the air conditioning isn't enough. Again, we’re sorry that your stay did not fully meet your expectations. Kind regards, Rémi Martignago - General Manager

The hotel is on the Place des Jacobines side, a 5-minute walk from Bellecour.
The Privilege room (412) is quite spacious, but the space could be better exploited by putting a larger table to use the laptop (it has only a mini table with rollers) with an appropriate chair, and the air conditioning doesn't refresh much. The bathroom is modern but lacks a soap support in the box.
The wifi works very well.
Breakfast is good, has fruits, orange juice made on time, yogurt, etc.

We really loved this hotel, more than expected.

The privilege rooms were really worth the extra cost - they are so much better and the location cannot be beat.

The staff was so sweet and welcoming,
The bed was so good that we are looking into buying one just like it, firm and comfortable.

The location is at the absolute best in Lyon, really good.

Good size room with a unique set-up; entering the room, I walked into a hallway with the door to the bathroom (recently updated) on one side and a closest on the other. At the end of the hallway was another room, which was the bedroom and it was bigger than I expected for a European hotel room. Bedroom had a chair, plus two tables and a mini fridge. Was initially concerned entering my room because of noise (music from nearby square) but the noise was done before dinner and there was little to no street noise overnight. TV had primarily French channels as well as a few English language news channels. Friendly staff, possible to purchase public transit passes at front desk. Would stay again.

A small boutique hotel in the old town and within 10-20 minutes walking distance to many attractions in the city. During check in, the front desk service is excellent and gave up room options to choose such as tub vs shower, room location, etc. The standard room size is good for a couple, not tiny. The room is nicely decorated and with good quality. We didn't get breakfast at the hotel but there are many pastry shops around the area that serve breakfast.

Hi Wongosari, 1. Our Privilege rooms has king-size bed of 180cm. 2. A/C is in service for a few days in all the hotel. 3. The nearest parking is Republique parking. 4. You pay the parking directly on-site for the time you park your car only. 5. All our rooms have double window which offer a quiet atmosphere even if we are in the city center. See you soon in Lyon ! Pauline

Hello how much is the public parking - think it is very close to the hotel. Does it have space normally? Thank you

hello, we used the private one that had been recommended by the hotel and is very close. If I am not wrong the rate is about 20 euro per night. The only problem is that the parking (garage) closes in the night and the morning after he did not re-open at the agreed tine so we did risk to miss the flight back home. It was a nightmare.
