Visiting Villa Florentine is always very pleasurable. Hardly have we ever experienced a team more dedicated to providing excellent service and a memorable stay for their guests than here. The rooms are very comfortable and nicely decorated wether you are in the original building or in the newer addition (we have stayed in both). A meal on the restaurant terrace...

Beautiful hotel, wonderful view, great location. However...be prepared for a lot of stair-climbing, particularly on the way back from a day in town. I think we counted close to 150 steps from the "main" part of Vieux Lyon to the hotel! Also, the room we had was on the road side of the hotel. Unfortunately, due to the pitch of...

My wife and I stayed in this gem of a hotel last week and we truly enjoyed the hospitality of the staff and the beautiful surroundings. The clue was a was a midnight bath in the hot tub overlooking the city ! We will be back as soon as our travels take us to Lyon. Jack and Jane

My husband and I recently returned from our 11th trip to France, but our first trip to Lyon, a gorgeous city of two rivers and two hills. Lyon should not be missed as its gastronomic experiences are a true delight. We stayed at Villa Florentine - half way up one hill, with a terrific restaurant; gorgeous rooms and views, and...

This boasts to be a five star hotel. The service is one star. We were treated as lowlifes when we entered. We had spent our days eating at michellin rated restaurants, but here we were obviously not the kind clientelle they want. We were approached by the hotel staff who basically inquired why are you here. His words were helpful,...

The hotel is beautifully set on the hill overlooking Lyon. The rooms were good and bathrooms impecable. The sad thing about this hotel is the service or lack of it. The concierge gave us wrong directions to Paul Bocuse. The receptionists and concierge had no idea of places of interests. There was one temporary receptionist who spoke spanish to our...

Pros: There are only two very excellent hotels in Lyon, this is one of them. So you do not have a lot of choice. This hotel is the right place if you fascinated by views! However the view has its price, there are two Monteés (stairs) down to Vieux Lyon one with 238 the other with 208 steps! No public...

Just a one night stay at this highly rated hotel en route to the South of France for our 2 week summer vacation. I had stayed here once before and recall it being a beautiful hotel with great views across Lyon, so we decided to try it again. Apart from a few cranes on the horizon nothing had much changed,...

My family and I came to this highly recommended (and very expensive hotel,) to spend three nights towards the end of June; the welcome was assured, if slow, and the Villa commands outstanding views over Lyon. Of the rooms booked, one was a suite; the French invented the word which literally means "one room following another", but in face there...

From the moment that we walked through the door the staff attended to all our needs. The manger personally greeted us on arrival and farewelled us on departure and made sure every aspect of our stay was looked after. Excellent breakfast, rooms and comfortable beds. Fantastic views. You could not ask for a more attentive and helpful staff. Very highly...
