Just a few minutes from the village, in the heart of Megève and the Aravis mountain range, guests are immersed in a natural setting. Just like in a mountain hamlet, the Alpaga chalets appear at the bend in the road and are organised around the heart of the hotel's life: the main chalet and its restaurants, the gardens, the short-lived bar and the Swedish bath facing Mont Blanc. They welcome regulars and visitors to the resort in an intimate, chic and warm atmosphere, in winter and summer alike. People come to l'Alpaga for the luxury of its rooms, but also for the refinement of its cuisine, awarded two Michelin stars in 2020. It's an authentic experience, both original and faithful to the region of Megevan, under the guidance of chef Alexandre Baule.

We spent 6 days @ Alpaga and overall had a very good stay.
I will start with the positives;
- Nice reception from Manon and team - Nice environment and views on the Mont Blanc - Nice breakfast and dinner (twice) - Professional team at breakfast and dinner - Very kind and professional bar man - Cosy mountain chalet style hotel
Negatives;
- E-mail communication before arrival problematic (I asked for a room far from the restaurant and top floor) - unfortunately we got a room just on top of the restaurant and on the first floor. It was very noisy at some times - you could also hear the set-up of the breakfast room early morning. I would also recommend to install some sophisticated coffee machines (i.e Nespresso or Franke) - this would allow the waiters to breathe a bit.
- Before arrival I asked if the hotel had individual airco in the rooms. I was told that it was the case (Chloé Poncet). Unfortunately it was not. Only a few rooms do but were not available.
- We moved rooms after day 3 - no noise from the restaurant but unfortunately some from the cars and deliveries.
- The new pool is extremely small and the amount of lounge chairs (especially in the weekends) available is too low. People had to sit in the grass. This should be fixed.
- The indoor pool is small and most of the time used by small children
I recommend the hotel but make sure you ask for a quiet room ps: the "chambres deluxe" are small

Eleven of us had the pleasure of spending 4 nights in the beautiful Chalet Eustache at the Alpaga Hotel in Megeve in January 2024. Before we arrived Emily and team had done a wonderful job in going above and beyond to organize everything at the hotel, transfers, restaurant bookings, ski hire and the likes so huge thanks to her. This theme of extremely friendly and attentive staff continued as we arrived and throughout our stay with all the staff making us feel very welcome and huge thanks to Julian who also went above and beyond to drive us around, organize items for us.
The hotel itself is in a lovely location and as described is pretty much a small hamlet of interconnected chalets, gardens and main buildings. All very stylishly decorated and furnished and very well presented throughout. The hotel is away from Megeve town though and does require a shuttle bus journey for skiing and restaurants in town in the evening. Contrary to some of the other reviews we never had a problem in the shuttle turning up multiple times when requested although we were out of season.
Chalet Eustache was a delight to stay in and all of us thoroughly enjoyed our time. The chalet itself is a lovely mix of traditional wooden style that you would expect in a ski resort but wonderfully complemented with modern furnishings, large balconies and lounge / dining areas as you would expect. The pool area, hammam, outside jacuzzi & sauna were wonderful additions and staff were on hand to look after us whenever we needed.
The La Table restaurant did a great job of catering for the various food intolerances across our group and the staff were always at hand as needed. The Michelin restaurant experience was a definite delight & the sommelier and waitresses made it a very enjoyable and friendly evening with some amazing, if not different food courses!
The only criticisms we would mention were that the breakfast staff could do with being a bit more organised & writing down all the orders so not to lose track, and that the front reception desk really needs to be manned at all times, but again we were there in a quiet time of the year.
All in all it was a great hotel in Megeve, with wonderful people and service. Please keep up the good work and cant wait to come back again with the family!! Huge thanks & see you again.

From the uninterrupted view of Mont Blanc peak, to the on-site Michelin starred restaurant, right down to the tea bag holder (a rare attention to detail!) and everything in between, we experienced a warm, attentive, and personalised 3 nights' stay.
Peaceful surroundings, hike and bike trails from the doorstep, very clean and tastefully decorated, run by a Manager who listens and responds to each request and feedback.
Un grand merci de nous deux à Julien et toute son équipe, from stunning room 66!

We've eaten at a number of restaurants with Michelin stars but there is a real point of difference with the food here. The staff are very friendly and helpful and made great efforts to explain the complex dishes to us in English. We're not of the Instagram generation but even I wanted to take a photo of the desert it was so intricate.
We had a smaller room but the storage space was very well engineered which meant it was far superior to larger rooms we've stayed in elsewhere.
A shout out to the barman who likes to experiment with infusions which means the drinks are as interesting as the food.
The only down side was the run in with what I assume was the marketing team who had no issue with inconveniencing staff and guests alike. I took exception to them ruining afternoon tea and one of them laughed in my face. At that point words were exchanged and expectations were reset. The pair of prententious idiots running the show were put back in their box. Only the photographer had any manners I apologise for any unease he felt.
I'm unsure how the marketing team reconcile trying to attract customers while being rude to the ones they already have. They thought they ran the place when in fact they're second fiddle to hardworking staff who provide the service. Marketing staff do not provide a 5 star service the waiters, housekeeping and others provide the experience.

Beautiful and quiet hotel. Away from the bustle of Megève. SPA staff extremely professional, competent and humane. Top notch car service, Julien was adorable. Very nice bartender. On the other hand, big downside on the reception, (with the exception of the charming person who welcomed us on Saturday evening). The reception lacks discretion (making one customer pay while another is sitting right next to it). And above all, we asked to keep the room for 15/20 minutes longer because we had a treatment in the hotel until 12 p.m. We had to negotiate hard to obtain it and at 12:14 p.m. we were called to tell us to leave the room. No room service in the hallway so cleaning had not started. And in the end wait 25 minutes for our car. For me this is not worthy of a 5 star. Who I think must be used to asking a lot more extravagant than keeping a room for 20 minutes. Especially for a service within the establishment.

We've been coming to Alpaga since shortly after it opened. We loved it then and we love it even more now. It simply keeps getting better and better. The staff is amazing with every interaction and we left with the feeling that they all had become our friends. The property and its location are ideal with tremendous views of Montblanc and it's quite nice to get away from the bustle of the village when you need a break. The food is fantastic, from the routine of the near-perfect breakfast every morning, to the two options for dinner. And we were pleasantly surprised with the arrival of a new bartender that led us through numerous flavorful journeys into the depths of mixology. Every time we consider where to go for an amazing trip, Alpaga and Megeve stand at the top of the list!

Staff attentive, friendly and responsive. Lower rating for an indoor pool whose temperature was really cool (we are not cozy but waiting for warmth in this spa which was an argument in the choice of the establishment. The jets also required adjustment as their power was in Karcher mode but the technical staff handled this quickly and efficiently. The hammam was just burning and needed adjustment as it was almost constantly heating up, the break was about 10 seconds between each warm-up, probably an adjustment problem as the seats were burning up. Level rooms, the area is appreciable, the bedding is fine, the bluetooth speaker offers perfect sound. We were greeted by a little sweetness from the pastry chef that was excellent! The property is about 1.5 km from the city centre and requires a vehicle ride. The setting is very nice. No luck, the outdoor pool was still under construction but promises to be nice.

This is a gem of a hotel situated on a hillside overlooking Megeve. So utterly charming - every surface and texture and view has been carefully considered. From linen curtains to the soft glow of natural wood, L’Alpaga is a visual and sensory delight. An easy 10 minute walk from the center of the buzzy town, I appreciated its sunny southern exposure especially this winter when I spent my time exploring on foot while the family drove further afield in search of snow.
Megeve is low altitude so snow is vulnerable here. But the town offers so many other ways to enjoy the outdoors that non diehard skiers - especially hikers and shoppers - are well entertained!
The team at L’Alpaga was extraordinary. From meticulous housekeeping to welcoming service at breakfast (despite my always being late!) to the lovely front desk team who helped us navigate to the hotel via the Mont Blanc tunnel (thank you Flavio!!) … everyone made us feel welcome, comfortable and rested.
The 2 Michelin starred restaurant was amazing though we only enjoyed the bistro experience. Each dish was a reflection of the same attention to detail but also artful combinations. You can’t cook like this at home, so the experience is truly special.
Finally, we loved the “living room” lobby and especially Charley, the resident mixologist who was an absolute delight. The small bar anchors the cozy lobby/living room, where Charley builds his own and bespoke creations, explaining his process. His attention to detail, his passion for the craft of cocktails and his friendliness are exceptional. He is an absolute treasure that the whole family appreciated! A bien tot, L’Alpaga!

We stayed at the Alpaga or rather the Luddros or the Rumsmalva and I must say that we will remember the experience lived in this 5 star Megèvan. After a very uncomfortable first night due to unsuitable pillows, the hostess at the reception, to resolve a situation that was not up to standard, offered us, if it did not suit us, to go and buy pillows ourselves in the city center, address provided to the key… (sic) Ultimately, we were lent, for the duration of our stay, 2 normal pillows, coming from one of the oldest and most renowned hotels in the center of Megève, which we warmly thank. However, Le gastro deserves rave reviews. Very unfortunate that a single person is capable of spoiling the work of an entire team.
