This was our first visit to Les Chardons and my teenage son and I had a twin room with our own shower and basin and sharing a toilet with one other room. This saved us £90 each so £180 for the week which added to...More
First visit and it exceeded expectation especially on the service & food front and maybe the amount of Cote Du Rhone imbibed!

my umpteenth time with YSE (well, maybe 11th) and 2nd in Les Chardons, Really excellent value single rooms (share shower and loo on the same floor) and superb cooking from Scottie. Last year we went last week of season, this year the penultimate week which...More
Second visit to the chalet with YSE, food is great-such a wide variety of courses and the canapés are fantastic!! the girls are really friendly and helpful. Rooms a bit small but perfect for the type of holiday skiing is! Lovely and warm and cosy!...More
Ankle bruising inflicted by painful ski-boots could have brought my holiday to a sad premature end. Val’s best boot fitter was unable to satisfactorily understand and resolve the problem. So step in YSE’s boot whisperer (YSE co-founder) with 40 years of skiing and ski-boot experience!...More

That's great and Tom has told me he's spoken to you. The YSE website gives details of all the ski schools - rather than list them here it really is better if you look there because we do give extensive details about all of them. I don't think it's possible to predict whether they will have English speaking clients because anyone can book with them. It's best to speak to the schools themselves - possibly nearer the time - because it becomes rather like Chinese Whispers otherwise.
The Aquatic centre which has a spa is about 5-10 minutes walk from Les Chardons. There are some pools and spas attached to some of the hotels which are available for non-residential use - the Blizzard and Christiania are two that come to mind.

Hi Em, Fiona from YSE here. All of the single rooms are suitable for one person although several do have a second bed - either another single making a twin or a double bed. However, we only sell these second beds for children during school holidays. None of the single rooms has fully en-suite facilities. The A singles have a shower and the B singles have a basin. There is a shower and wc on each floor. Les Chardons used to be a hotel - it has a chalet feel but does sleep 43 so is a large chalet! There is no log fire - the sitting room is exactly as shown in the two photos on the website - it is in an L shape. We have many other chalets which do have log fires - those that do are shown on the grid available through the Chalet Overview page.
Regarding your second message, the floor plans on our website show the direction each room faces. Although several do face the direction of the pistes, none actually see the nursery slopes as there is another building in between but they do have views of the mountains. Those that do are on the south side of the building - ie. 2, 9, 10, 11, 14, 21, 22, 23, 30, 31, 32.
The bedrooms are listed in order of preference on the website so of the ones you mention the double rooms in order are:
19, 22, 10, 7, 31 and then 28.
The singles in order are the order you give above ie:
17, 16, 5 and then 4.
Our reservations staff can give advice about all of the above when you book tomorrow and even suggest other chalets which might suit you better if you do want the fire etc. although only two other chalets have single rooms (La Moraine and Juniper) and sadly neither of these have fireplaces - otherwise you would have to pay a single supplement.
I hope this helps. Fiona
