Great value, really well located in the town centre. Welcomes cyclists and has an indoor secure place to stock them. Very nice helpful polite staff. Book directly for the best price. Nice breakfast and overall couldn't fault the value. So 5 bubbles because for the price, and for a cyclist, great.

The receptionist was helpful and friendly, the hotel was cheap, though there are a variety of prices, depending on how big a room you want. The room we had was very small but adequate we were happy with the price and the room. The food in the restaurant, was very cheap (cheaper than the bottle of wine!) and tasted much, much better than it looked. The beds in France are so often 1.80 - just long enough to fit on but too small for me to be really comfortable. The bar stays open after dinner, the shower was good. No view but for one late night emergency who cares

good points: nice location in the centre of town with a secure garage for car 300 m away. Staff courteous and helpful. restaurant quite good. bad: the room. An overpowering stench of disinfectant clearly applied in order to cover another smell. Similar to that used in undertakers. Is the damp that severe. Caused nausea and was unable to clear even with windows wide open at minus 3 degrees. Cramped and worst shower encountered ever in our extensive travels. More of a small bath with a shower attachment. I will never return.

Comfortable hotel, good value for money, and very well situated, in the centre of town, close to the train and bus station and near the beautiful park. Staff friendly helpful and efficient. Everything in the room was clean, functional. everything worked, nothing broken! There are two price levels, and I stayed in the slightly more expensive one, which was worth it, I think, as the room certainly appeared to have had certainly had a (modest) upgrade. If I need to stay in the centre of Valence again I would certainly choose this hotel. The small restaurant certainly looked OK, though I didn't use it.

We stayed at Les Negociants for three nights. The hotel is centrally located - many shops and restaurants nearby; not to mention right across from the train station. The room was spacious and very clean. We slept very well - no noise could be heard from outside. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Overall an excellent stay at this hotel.
