Stayed one night at Hotel Kreuzblume during a family trip to Germany. The hotel is very small and on one of the most charming streets in Freiburg. Rooms are clean and adequate, no frills. The staff at the hotel is extremely friendly and work very hard to run the hotel and restaurant. We had one of our best meals of the entire Germany trip at the Kreuzblume restaurant, I highly recommend it! We had a very early train to catch the next morning so the kitchen and staff started early just to make us breakfast before we left which I was really impressed by.

This restaurant has a limited selection on the menu, but what there is has been done to perfection!
The hotel, while new has extremely comfy beds, good size room and good showers.

I just completed a four night stay at this cute hotel. It is very well located, on one of the attractive shop filled and cobble stoned streets.
I had a large room, which was comfortable and attractively decorated. The bed and pillows were very comfortable.
The staff were very kind, especially young service oriented Hans Martin Hellum. The housekeeper, I’m sorry I don’t remember her name, was also very friendly.
I would consider this hotel a very good value for the price paid.
I would recommend this hotel should your travels brings you to wonderful Freiburg. Just beware the beguiling shops if, like me, you’re blowing the budget on hotels!

This hotel gets good reviews for very good reason. It is located on possibly the prettiest street in Freiburg. It is within an old building but inside the rooms are modern & light & airy. It has free wi-fi. It is very conveniently located less than 3 minutes walk the lovely main square, a further 3 minutes will take you to the main shopping street. When I arrived I got a taxi from the train station but even that is a handy 15 minute walk. The staff were very nice & welcoming, I didn't get the pleasure of having dinner in the restaurant but by all accounts it is very good. I very much recommend this lovely little hotel!

Smaller hotel with stylish touches and great staff. This hotel is on a lovely little street (especially picturesque at Christmas time) with restaurants nearby and parking just 2-mins away. Very convenient! We had a quiet room, as requested, and slept very well - though the bed may not be as supportive for some. Staff were helpful with restaurant recommendations and with the included breakfast (the waitress checked on us several times during the buffet). The food was delicious. I would stay at this hotel again and recommend it to those looking for a smaller hotel.

The hotel is right on the edge of the old town, which is very convenient if you drive to Freiburg as I did because you can park your car at the underground lot and come out to the surface some 30 meters from the hotel so your bags don't have the time to get too heavy. You can't get lost as the hotel owner sent you an e-mail the day before and then called you to give you the directions.
Our room was small, but so is the old town. The bed was soft, as is the local accent. The furniture was simple, wooden and probably made by the carpenter who lives next door. The breakfast was simple again (perhaps too simple), but by breakfast time you no longer care as the night before you walked all around the charming town, dined at a romantic restaurant, put your tired feet into the rivulets with cold water running along the cobblestone streets, and then walked around the quiet town again trying to find the famous Schwarzwalderkirschtorte (with no success, so we'll have to come back).
Is it a great modern hotel with a spa and large well-stocked bathrooms? no. It does not have porters, so the owner himself helps you carry your bags upstairs and you are at a loss whether you can tip him: after all, he is the owner (in fact, one of the Dutch/German owner threesome). And the hotel does not have minibars, safeboxes, or air-conditioning. But remember? your Granny's old country cottage did not have all those things either, and you did not mind as a child. So that's what this hotel is: a friendly and intimate place run by warm and friendly people. Can you do without a spa, for a change?

Very impressed by the passion behind the running of this 8-bedroom hotel - with restaurant attached!
Very friendly and competent handling of last-minute booking. Super rooms. Well appointed. Very clean and welcoming. Restaurant was excellent. Even able to deal with individual requests. 14-year old son loved it. Cannot praise highly enough. Will visit again and happy to recommend. Location cannot be beaten.

My wife and I travelled recently for the first time to Germany and this hotel gave us everything we wanted and much more. It's modern, clean and offers a fantastic breakfast to start the day off on a bright note. The hotel is located along this narrow side street in Old Freiburg that truly delivers the feeling of being in old Germany. With just a short walk, you can access great restaurants offering incredible German cuisine as well as quaint little shops that offer everything from art supplies to chocolate to musical instruments. About a 30 minute drive away is the spectacular Black Forest where the scenery is nothing short of incredible. Not once did we feel that we were ever in a "tourist trap" type of town.

Actually found this hotel on Trip advisor. No parking, but a block from the main parking garage, and hotel offers discounted rate. The restaurant in the hotel is delightful - great ambiance, food and wine list. Staff was great too.

Everything is in within walking distance, great farmer's market and Christmas Market, nice shops on the cobblestone streets.

We overnighted on our way to Italy in order to see the town. Breakfast was fine. Car parking in the nearby public car park was OK, and easy to reach from a main road around the town (as was the hotel). The room was quiet at the back and recently refurnished in a minimalist style. The ensuite was OK, although the tiles had been overpainted in the refurb and shower head a bit rickety. The selling point of the hotel is its central location in a pedestrianised area, which made it a joy to wander around the charming town. As the restaurant was closed (Monday),the hotel recommended a rather upmarket one (whose name I cannot remember) which served good traditional German fare at a reasonable price in a fine environment (nicer than the hotel's rstaurant!) . The room itself was a bit pricey at €130 - worth it for the location, but the room was not quite good enough for the price (we stayed at someone a lot better in Heidelberg for the same price on our return).
