Detailed Reviews
Great, clean hotel in the Black Forest. Staff were friendly and attentive. The hotel was in a convenient location to all the major sights in the old town section of town. The included breakfast was also very good.

Cozy, clean room with elevator access. Good service from the host upon both check-in and checkout. He was helpful in guiding us to the center of the city and to a dinner house. He made suggestions on where to buy petrol. Maid on our floor was also friendly, made eye contact and spoke to us.

We stayed for 3 nights in this very nice hotel. The staff was very kind and sveet🌸🌸. Good location in a quiet area.
Very good and delicate breakfast. Coffee and small sweets in the small hotel lobby for free. Clean and nice room and very good beds.
Hope to come back here.

This hotel fell below our expectations in terms of room, location and value for money. The budget double room was the most expensive room of our tour of the Black Forest yet the smallest and least attractive. They are single rooms with a larger bed pushed against the wall. Rooms were not tastefully furnished - ugly functional furniture, cheap looking pictures on wall. You had to climb over the other person to get out of bed as there was no room at the bottom. There was street noise at night. The hotel is not in a very attractive neighbourhood. Close to a small park area where there were drunks hanging out. The breakfast was decent but would not stay again nor recommend to others. There are many hotels closer to the historic area and would look there another time.

Thanks for your rating. In the room description at Booking, both the room size and the size of the bed are noted. By booking with Booking, you also paid a higher price than with a direct booking. This may have an impact on your rating. As a hotel we have to pay between 10 and 18% to booking. We cannot pay for this entirely on our own. may not like the pictures, but prints and lithographs by German artists from the 1970s to the 2000s. In a city center location there is unfortunately always noise at night. But we believe that it is not extreme with us. We align our breakfast according to the necessary measures due to Corona. Unfortunately not all dishes are possible. But you were happy to order the egg dishes freshly prepared by us. Regarding the neighborhood, we ask ourselves whether you were disturbed / threatened by it or whether you just want to complain. Nevertheless, thank you for your rating, as it helps us to explain such ratings to other guests

The hotel is ideally located. The staff was very friendly, the breakfast was great and the room was clean. However, they have these 'one-person rooms with external bathroom/toilet' (this was indicated prior to booking). This means that the (private) toilet is outside the room in the main lobby which can be bit of an inconvenience.

+1
We've had stayed in this nice family-run hotel for three nights and woke up every morning with a wonderful smell of fresh pastry from the window. Unlike every other hotel we've stayed, this had a good breakfast, very clean rooms, friendly staff. We've requested an extra blanket (yes, in august...) and got it immediately. VERY IMPORTANT: they give you a "Conus Card" wich allows to use public transport for free, including other cities in Baden-Wurttemberg. Location is 3 minutes walk from main station (bus and train).

In the middle of a record heat wave, the owner/manager didn't bother to leave enough fans out for his guests, so we suffered through the night in a stifling, dangerously hot room due to his incompetence. And he refused to take responsibility at all for his idiocy. His excuse? "This is [only] a 3-star hotel!" As if you shouldn't expect basic human decency in Germany in anything less than a 4-star hotel? When I promised to leave bad reviews, he started yelling about that being "extortion" and illegal in Germany. How can it be extortion when I was asking for anything? (Though an apology would have been nice, but obviously too much to expect from this clown.) It's a pretty hotel, the rooms have some charm, which probably accounts for the positive reviews, but believe me when I say that if something goes wrong, you won't be able to depend on the owner/manager to have your back. He's more than willing to put your comfort, and even your health, at risk, to save a few bucks on fans. (And by the way, EVERY other 3-star hotel in our trip had fans already in all the rooms, and some even provided two, since there were three of us.) Add in the flies swarming around the over-priced breakfast buffet, and you can see why we'll never stay here again...

Thanks for your review. It shows us and hopefully other guests that bad behavior from guests sometimes provokes a response. In air-conditioned American hotels you can't open windows and there are no flies, but no charm. I ignore the probably disrespectful term “clown”. I gave them different names in my mind. Thank you for your promise not to come again.

The hotel provides excellent cozy rooms with superb breakfast in the morning. Though the windows do not open on the road, still the hotel is worth staying for an overnight stay. I was there to spend the night for travelling the next day to cologne. Very well behaved hotel personnel.

Great hotel with lots of charm, very individual service, great breakfast buffet with a wide selection, with freshly prepared fried or scrambled eggs on request. The RVF ticket is also great and we used it a lot, particularly interesting for guests from abroad like us who don't have a Germany ticket
