Great for walkers
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
We booked this as a stopover on our way back to the UK from Italy. We wanted to be within walking distance of a pretty town and have secure parking as we were travelling with bikes on the back of the car, as well as all our luggage. This hotel suited us perfectly. The location was ideal within 10 minutes of the main square of the town with a walk through very pretty streets. The hotel was kind enough to supply a map and some restaurant recommendations. The secure underground car park was very important to us and as long as you reserve in advance, you can use it. There is another public underground car park nearby so if you can't get a space, that is a useful alternative. The rooms themselves were very comfortable end immaculately presented. The breakfast was phenomenal with lots of choice and very efficient and friendly service. To be honest, this is what you come to expect from a German hotel so you won't be disappointed. We are already planning to come back.

After getting off a long train ride and hauling luggage through the station, we were thrilled that Park Hotel Post was only 1 1/2 blocks from the station, an easy walk even with 2 weeks worth of luggage. The hotel is very comfortable, and has a scenic location next to a park with wine grapes growing. It was less than 5 minutes walk to the heart of the old town. The breakfast buffet was very good and got us off to a good start every day. Traveling with a friend, we got a twin room, and my only disappointment was the arrangement of the beds, as I couldn’t sit in bed and read the normal way. But the room was otherwise comfortable, very clean and had a closet for hanging clothes, something I appreciate as many hotels have done away with them. We also loved the town of Freiburg—it’s charming and surrounded by beautiful mountains.

A decent hotel in a good location, where we stayed last Friday night. I just want to acknowledge how helpful the young man at the reception desk was when we arrived somewhat early that morning. He went out of his way to make us feel welcome, gave us every assistance with the rather tight car park and arranged tea and coffee whilst our room was being made ready. I understand that he may have only recently joined the hotel staff but he will certainly be an asset to the hotel. Many thanks.

The staff is wonderful here and we had a bigger room with a balcony. The issue I had was cleanliness. There was hair in the tub when we checked in and I just figured run soapy water, it was probably from cleaning it and it's from the housekeeper. Then in the middle of the night I had flipped the pillow while sleeping, and in the morning saw there was blood on the pillow and on the sheets from previous guests. It was definitely already there and not from me. It seems the way the pillow with the blood on the side was placed down strategically so you can't see it, and there was blood on the sheets under the pillow. A little grossed out that my face was on it. I mentioned it to the front desk, they were very apologetic and said that was unacceptable and did have our room cleaned immediately. Still I spent $650 Euros to spend a night sleeping on someone else's blood. Gross and totally unhygenic.
I really liked the blackout blinds that was a nice touch. The staff was all so nice, the breakfast staff is really nice and it is in a good location. The hotel can be renovated as it seems outdated but it would have been a better stay if we didn't experience what we had.

Friend and I had stayed at other hotels in Freiburg, but we rank PHP the best. It's located outside the inner city, has a great view of the park, the cathedral, and the mountains. It's clean, efficient, and friendly. The staff speak English and communication is not a problem. The single rooms might be small, but if you need space, the two-bedroom apartment is a great choice! Furnishing is handcrafted wood, and it has the mingled charm of old and new. Rates are affordable, and breakfast generous. If you arrive by train, it's a block from the station. Supermarket is across the street, as is apothecary.

I am so happy I stayed here. The location is perfect—centrally located and less than a 5 minute walk to the train station. Everyone at the hotel was friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was very nice and you can ask for coffee, tea, etc. during the day. The room was just right for a solo visitor and it was so, so quiet. The last day, I opened my door and the hotel had left a chocolate Santa. A great stay in Freiburg!

This is the place to stay when in Freiburg. Beyond the nice rooms and surroundings, it's the staff that makes this place exceptional. We needed to leave very early in the morning to catch a flight and asked for a sack breakfast. They went above and beyond to accommodate us. A very nice man had a full breakfast ready for us at 5:00 in the morning, well before they serve everyone else. We were able to eat there and not have to worry about taking food with us. That's special! The reception staff always had a hello when you came in and a have a nice time when you left. They also had 24 hour service which seems to be uncommon these days. Its close to the city center and close to the train station. Freiburg is a beautiful and charming city. And the Park Hotel is the same. I would stay there time and again.

You cannot find a better hotel - small, boutique, thoughtful, value for money, perfect location. We loved our stay as we appreciated the whole ‘look’ and focus on books - thematically speaking. Breakfast had everything you wanted and the coffee was drinkable (not always the case in German hotels). There were a lot of little freebies - bottle of water, fruit, lollies and a little gift on departure. A perfect spot for Freiburg but also if you want a base to take day trips.

I spent (for the second time) a week at the Freiburg Park Hotel. I can highly recommend this hotel for all the good reasons: the location (very close to the train station), the comfort, the design, the clean rooms, the great breakfast, and above all the warm service - from the cleaners, through the dining room to the front desk. The place is very central. If you happen to get a room on the 3rd floor facing the small park - you might think you are in Tuscany....
Pillows are not the best part of this place. Other than that - great place

If I could give this hotel more than 5 stars I certainly would!!! From the moment we arrived to the moment we left the service was outstanding. If your driving here I’d definitely recommend you book a car space in there garage. When we arrived hubby went into the hotel and mentioned we’d booked the garage, within a couple of minutes a wonderful older gentleman came out and explained that I (lady) had to drive down into the garage. OMG it was seemed so steep just like a roller coaster :-)) but he was fantastic in showing me into my space. The car didn’t leave the garage until we left :-))). Breakfast is very good not a great deal to choose from if you don’t like the German breakfast’s ie cold meats salami & cheeses, as I don’t but the bread rolls and boiled eggs were yummy. The staff actually recommended a couple of restaurants in the town and both were in fact very good.

This is true! Normally in July it will be warm or hot, between 25-38 ° degrees, so sometimes an airconditioning will be more comfaortable.
When all is working well this spring, we have a new air conditioning in the hotel this summer!
