We usually got to to the Hirschen in summer to sit on the terrace . Amazing atmosphere and beautiful food . Great service .
Corona has really put pressure on restaurant and bars to even strive to survive this crazy time . We booked dinner for two to take away ... traditional german Roast goose and all the trimming. Red cabbage , knödel etc. It was absolutely delicious. Perfectly cooked . portions were great . Great value for money . I can highly recommend it .. hopefully we‘ll be able to go back again and sit in the beautiful dining room soon.
Wishing the Hirschen team all the best in these strange times .

we booked a nice room on the top floor, spacious enough for additional single bed. the hotel enjoys a good location not far from the highway, and offers a fantastic dinner and very good breakfast - all that for a fair price. good value. warmly recommended.

Lovely hotel near town !
We just spent a week at the hotel with the extended family .
We had five rooms in different classes , 2 comfort , 1 superior and one junior suite that is really nice .
The rooms are nice size and the balcony is great. Lovely pool with lounge chairs and hammocks .
It was so hot that the pool was a lifesaver and the kids had a blast.
The Private parking is also important when the hotel is full .
The staff is amazing and really assists with any needs
Thanks for a lovely week

I can't beleive nobody has reviewed this place!!! This new hotel is 5 minutes outside of Freiberg and 5 minutes off the A5 Autobahn. Rooms are very clean, modern and air conditioned. The rooms are not huge but bigger than most rooms in Europe and they are nicely furnished. The staff are are extremely nice; most mornings I was greeted by name. The included breakfast is fantastic (fresh OJ, cheeses, meats, pastries, egs, bacon, fruit etc) and you can sit outside on the terrance and dine under the chestnut trees.

The outdoor pool is "okay" but it was nice to take a dip after a hot day in Freiburg.

Hotel restaurant is very good and if you ate lunch or dinner there you wouldn't be dissapointed. (Hint: Eat at Enoteca in Freiberg and try and get Guiseppe as your waiter and if they have the special veal chop you must get it). I ate dinner at Enoteca two nights in a row and it was sooooo good. The Michelin rated Hotel Park Columbi restaurant is also excellent (best lamb I had in a long time).

Highly recommend this hotel. Don't be put off by the lack of reviews. For the price, you can't beat it. I have paid lots more for hotels in Europe and received a lot less.

Freiberg is a great city with enough shopping and restaurants to keep you entertained for a day or two. The Saturday market on the town square was clean and well organized.

This hotel is clean and quiet, and the the staff have been friendly. Unfortunately, that's as good as it gets. The hotel itself is an atmosphereless concrete box, the rooms likewise. Our room, for 130 euro per night, was too small to put out bags away anywhere except on the floor to step over them. The window on the ground floor looked straight onto the concrete ramp of the car park. The hotel itself is literally miles and miles from the beautiful old city centre, and there is nothing of any picturesque or historical significance within walking distance of this place. We booked this place because of positive trip advisor reviews. We definitely won't be be back.

It is very simple and basic hotel, not fancy
with small pool , and spa with sauna,
in the middle of neighborhood, so no nice view.
If you looking for relaxation place this hotel is good for that purpose.
We used it as sleeping base just eat breakfast and went to explore the black forest area.

The bed isn't comfortable and I didn't had good sleep.

The breakfast is basic and ok, the coffee, wasn't for my taste.
There is a fresh carrot juice machine which is nice, too bad there is no capsules coffee machine.
when the breakfast area was too crowded, the staff wasn't be able to handle it,
and we waiting too long for coffee, can be fixed easily with self making coffee machine.

Once we came back late and eat dinner at the hotel,it was very good, the chef make us what ever we ask that was very nice of him.

There is no electric kettle in the room, and you will not be able to make tea or coffee in the room.

Things that can make it better:
1. The gym is a joke, two old bicycle its not a gym.
2. Add self making coffee machine.
3. Add tea set in the rooms.
4. Add more pillows on the bed

Modern, very well thought out rooms, excellent restaurant and lovely staff makes this a hotel we will revisit. Not often you get such a good restaurant in a hotel. Also free and very accessible underground parking. Really enjoyed our stay.

Mentality When I check into an American hotel such as Marriott or Hilton anywhere in the world, I have a responsible expectation that it will be a good experience. Not so with the Clarion Hotel Hirschen. Every time I moved I seemed to get charged for it making for a non-welcoming environment. I usually travel for business, but this was for pleasure so I wanted a cot for my two year old daughter, they wanted to charge us 39 Euros extra. The one thing that was free was the WIFI but it was the worst I have ever experienced in a hotel, I could not even get on with my iPad! Air Conditioning on high did not work well and to top it all off, morning coffee was not free, none in the rooms either. Finally, here I thought I was going to spend around 120 Euros for the night, and the bill with all the hidden taxes and charges came to 189 Euros. I live here in Germany and realize that Germans are not the most hospitable people, but they could really take a page out of our playbook on this one. Fellow Americans stay in a B&B with a family atmosphere instead of a BMW factory.

We had a great romantic getaway to this hotel - nice cute decor in the rooms, fantastic breakfast including prosecco, and lazy relaxing days by the pool :-)
The food here was excellent too - but a bit on the expensive side.
Have recommended this hotel to several friends since we stayed here.
