Our room was in the guest house and was roomy and had a balcony. The kitchenette was a nice bonus. Breakfast was ok, but not outstanding. The EVC was great but they need an additional one plus more parking is needed since we parked in the adjacent field one night. The location is odd; behind a gas station and in front of the train tracks. Ear plugs were provided though so that helped. The tram stop is across the street which is convenient but due to ongoing construction the schedule was limited. There really isn’t anything within walking distance so you need to drive/taxi/bus into the center of town. Overall our stay was pleasant however and we would stay here again.

My band tours through Europe and we see a wide variety of hotels and hostels. The nature of touring in a band means you try to find lodging with beds for everyone and on a low budget. The Hotel Classic fit the bill. It was easy to find a room with beds for 5 at this hotel. The room was new and clean, the bathroom was a good size and modern, there was a balcony as well. The hotel staff was helpful and courteous and the location of the Hotel is just a couple kilometers from the town square--not walkable but just a short distance. I highly recommend this hotel to any traveler to Freiburg who would like to save a few euro by not staying in the downtown area of beautiful Freiburg. The only drawback is the breakfast is 9 euro per person--a bit steep for a traditional German breakfast. Save a few bucks and head into town to one of the great bakeries for breakfast and you'll be good to go.

We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel. You are a little out of the centre but there is easy access by tram. The tram terminal is a short walk from the hotel. Very good breakfast, lovely room, great service.

It is critical to know this beautiful hotel is far outside the main city, in the country, about 45 minutes using public transport (one change). My friends and I were caught by surprise, but luckily we were driving.

That said, I was in the new wing, and my room was gorgeous. Really luxurious with incredible, posh style. Very spacious with fantastic bathroom. I had a balcony facing the garden and hills out back (rooms on the other side faced the highway). It was so beautiful I forgave my friend who booked it (and was led to believe it was central).

Unfortunately, my friends stayed in the pension wing to save money, and were not happy. It was just adequate. I only rubbed it in a little.

The owners are very helpful and friendly, but they misled my friend on the initial booking.

The hotel is right across from a Walmart, so we bought food and wine, and had dinner on my balcony. It was a very different experience than we expected, but it was good to get out of cities.

Please know you must have a car to stay here.

We spent a weekend with friends in Freiburg and searched for a clean, spacious apartment for 2 families with 4 kids in total for a reasonable price. Mission accomplished! The hotel itself is small, the rooms were super clean, modern and spacious- not luxurious but nice and completely equipped with everything you need. The staff was very friendly and always very helpful. The train close by might be disturbing during the week, but it was totally fine over the weekend. The public transport connection is perfect - 2 mins walking distance to the tram station and every couple of minutes a connection directly to the heart of Freiburg (Siegesdenkmal or Bertholds-Brunnen).

We would def book this hotel again for our next stay....

This hotel is located about 5km from the city center, however right along the tram line which takes about 5-10 mins to get to town. It is clean, comfortable and quiet and has large windows and patios or balconies. The wifi was so/so but it wasn't a huge deal for us. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

Stayed there for 2 nights (Jan 2012) for a weekend in Freiburg. The hotel was very easy to find (by car) and the staff there were very nice and tried hard with us non-German speakers. The room was perfect - there were 4 of us in one room and there was plenty of room for suitcases etc. Extremely clean and modern with good soundproofing. Beds were excellent with adjustable headrests. Didn't have breakfast so can't comment - we grabbed some bread from the petrol station just in front of the hotel. There is also a large supermarket opposite. To get into the city centre we decided to leave the car at the hotel and to walk 10 minutes to the nearest tram stop (line 2) then a short tram ride into the centre. Nice enough walk along a main road. So it is possible without a car but I suppose if you have a lot of luggage it might be a little far out of town. Only downside might be that the hotel is next to a car dealer and a petrol station so not exactly the most romantic of locations!! Highly recommended.

We stay for a week in this hotel (1 adult & 3 kids 14,12,8). We got large room that fits us very well. Every morning the breakfast was freshy and include vegetables, eggs, buns, cheese, fish, bakon.- its cost extra money.
The staff is very helping. Nearby takes 5 min. of walking there is a large super market, bus station.
The hotel is far from the old city , that was good for us because we don't have to enter the city when we didn't need to. The highway is nearby also.
the parking is very good and useful and free - thats a big pro.
Cons - I don't find, sorry.

If we will visit thus era again we surely stay in this hotel again
