Large friendly wide open building with modern installations. Free WiFi only in the entrance hall supports an active lifestyle without locking out modern life. Food is excellent, service friendly and activities? Ah, don t get me started. Zoo next doors, great public open pool on the other side, Heidelberg with all its museums and sights only a stroll away, Odenwald...

Booked one night for this hostel via a booking website travelling home from a holiday in Italy. There was no info mentioned about extra payment for various things except somewhere on the bottom of an unimportant email about the booking being successful. We arrived after 12 hours of travelling, very tired but friendly. Meeting the hostess behind the counter treating...

Crappy, paid WiFi. Come on, Jugendherberge, you just can't do that in this day and age. Internet access costs €5 per day, and you can only access it in their lobby. Luckily, that covers their bar as well, but then you just feel obligated to buy more expensive drinks so you can keep talking to your friends and family. Not...

Myself and two friends stayed at the hostel while cycling the Rhine Route Velo 15. Got a room with 4 beds but we were only charged for 3 and no one else used other bed. Good breakfast and evening meal was OK. Friendly staff especially the young Hungarian lady when we arrived. Secure bike area and we were able to...

Read the small lines, think three times before reserving. Then think again. The hostel demands extra payments that are not clear on the page, the bed linen have terrible quality, the bathroom in the bedroom smelled bad and the service was totally impersonal. Than add this to a location that requires public transportation to go anywhere and a bunch of...

....So I was invited to present two papers at a paediatrics conference in early June 2016 and whereupon Jugendherberge Heidelberg was both the venue and accomodation. I booked my accomodation in advance as advised by organization committee. The staff were very friendly and helped answer any questions i had about the local area. There was a bus stop less than...

Very expensive for a hostel, you can stay at a proper hotel with these money. When we arrived there, there had been a misunderstanding about our booking and the staff was reluctant to solve it even though it was their fault. We payed extra. You should pay for the internet and for almost everything in there, extra. Dirty and rude...

I liked the facility, the rooms were spacious and we had in room toilet and shower. The staff was very friendly. Breakfast was acceptable, nothing earth shattering. We were there with a group of boy scouts and one of the nights we were there we had barbecue on the patio and the food that was provided was excellent. It isn't...

This place is more expensive than a 3 star stay in any European city. When you book by the website the extra payments like membership card (youth hostel card - you are obliged to get it even if you are not interested) extra charge for double room are not well explained and the information is confusing. The stuff in the...

I stayed in a dorm. It was very clean. The hostel is big with more than 100 rooms. It has quite a lot of facilities such as table tennis and even a piano, though I didn't ask if they charge extra money to use them. The breakfast was included in the price (about 25 EUR in November) and it was...
