Decided on a last minute trip to Heidelberg, Germany at high season during the Christmas Market. It was quite difficult finding a decent rate in the Alt Stadt (old town) as everything was either booked or the few available were over $200/night. Having lived here and knowing the area, I knew where I wanted to be but didn't want to...

A completely different way to stay. No meeting with staff or anyone else. Get info about entering by sms. Key codes. Find keys. Put cash and keys in post box. Location is good but interaction with staff for local knowledge completely missing.

Stayed 2 nights in Room No.1, which had 2 bedrooms and a private bath. It was extremely clean and recently modernized in 2014. In spite of having no A/C in such an old historic building, my wife, daughter, and I were still comfortable. The temps in Heidelberg during our stay reached 98 - 100 degrees F. The great location allows...

Pension Jeske is an unusual accomodation in a fabulous location In Heidelberg. Staying here is more like an Air B and B experience than staying in a hotel would be. We hadn't realized that we would never see any person associated with this accommodation during our stay here. No one answers the door when you arrive. Instead, you see a...

I stayed here with my 2 children in July. We came by train so total pain to find hotel and then have to find the place to pick up the keys. Then you need to make sure you have cash as no credit cards accepted. The pub we picked up the keys from was super busy so we had to...

I had never been to heidelberg before and wanted to stay close to the city center so I could walk and explore. I feel like I got very lucky with the Pension Jeske. The location is amazing, 1 block from the main square with shopping, restaurants, bars, the castle, and the christmas market (seasonal obviously). Everything was very walkable, but...

We were really thrilled with our stay in the Pension Jeske. No, it is not a brand-new, fancy chain hotel, but it has a lot of character, and is spotlessly clean in the rooms. We had a family room (which is actually two rooms plus a bathroom), and it was enormous, bright, and comfortable. The location of Pension Jeske can't...

Pulled into Heidelberg late in the day to a bustling Olde quaint city and picked up the key and paperwork from a very helpful, English speaking lady in a nearby pub. Pension was in a great very quiet street off the main drag, but convenient to everything. We walked to the square for breakfast and dinner, and could see the...

We stayed in Pension Jeske last week for 2 nights while we were in Heidelberg. It's a 250 year old house, so don't expect the Ritz. Everything is clean and nice and....well, old. I mean, don't expect flat screens and new flooring everywhere, but at the same time, it's a really nice place. Martin, the owner, is also very good...

Pros: -great location, close to everything: castle, market plaza..etc -free wireless internet -cozy beds -clean bathroom -owner (Martin) was very friendly and helpful Cons: -not-so-good sound insolation (the building was kind of old I guess)
